Day 3 of Tracey's Patience Training by Jones

The plan from Friday 4-21-17.

Here is what I was thinking as a plan:
  1. Ordered new pen - just in case but will hold that for after the weekend.
  2. Yesterday I decided just to stick with the pred, but I am thinking this morning that I started this whole mess for a reason and since tonight is budesonide night - I will stick with the budesonide going forward. He seems to be doing ok on it now and with it being a week of transition of the low dose of pred - I think things should be ok to drop the pred. If he doesn't do well over the long term on the IBD side, I can always ask a vet about switching back.
  3. I will keep the dose of a F1 drop over the next 3 days unless he goes below 50.
  4. Then assess where Jonesy is on Monday. If things don't improve, try new pen at the same dose for a 4 cycles.
  5. If things still don't improve then look for advise on dosage.
Stuck to the plan and kept to the budesonide. As noted by some of you - the offsetting day idea was a bust. Should of known from before with doing the pred every other day but didn't want to just go off of it as you get warned enough about that from the vet.

Yesterday's numbers were kind of flat but he also ate a bit more through out the day. It was a snowy ugly day in Edmonton, so we snuggled on the couch with a blanket. I read and randomly poked him, he slept and ate. Worked for both of us. All of his evening meal was eaten plus his before bed "snack" by morning. I have noticed that both his CKD civvie sister and him - like their before bed snack. Which will work well when I start using the SEB when needed. (BTW - the suggestion of freeze dried treats left out for Rain to eat during the night has worked wonderfully. They are always gone in the morning and there has been no watery - foamy white vomits since we started this).

So, I am thinking my pen is ok.

So new plan:
  1. Keeped the same F1 drop for a week and see where his numbers fall.
  2. If need I will ask for dose advice next Monday as that will be 7 days of consistent meds and dose.

He's looking good Tracy. Have you tried a +9 LC snack to try and get his preshot numbers down?

My friend is just outside Edmonton and posted the snow pic on FB yesterday. Your Mother Nature is not playing nice!

Have you tried a +9 LC

I can see about asking DH to give something during the day. I can also ask DS to do it as he is home about +6-7 each day.

He has a feeder but it isn't timed...his sister is a black hole for food (explains why she is double the weight she should be and on a diet now). So, if it was timed she would eat it before he got to it at night.

DH is almost healed up as well, so fingers crossed he will be cleared to go to work soon.

Jones' name is missing from the title, that's why I couldn't find you. :)

Sorry about the snow, but at least you got snuggles.
