Hi LL'ers:

I haven't tested Boomer in 2 days, so I don't have a number to report. I'm not sure when I'm supposed to do it now.

My latest goal is changing his food to help his puking. He hasn't puked today and didn't overnight. I returned my raw vennison and got a B1G1 free Nature's Variety Raw Chicken. I figure I'll cook it a bit first and slowly cook it less over time. He seemed to eat a bit more than the vennison but didn't love it. I also bought an Evo 95% Duck large can of food and he took to it immediately. I think that's one of those foods that if he ate all the time may totally straighten out his food allergies. Anyone out there use Evo food? I'd like to have him off IBD meds this year.

I am sleeping over my BF's for the first time in over 5 months tonight. ;-) I can't believe it! Thank goodness for the autofeeder and him being OTJ gives me some freedom.

Can you cook the NV raw? I didn't know that. I just gave it to the girls in raw form.

Yes, I use the Evo 95% - did you get the 95% ones? We've tried every flavor and I even have a case of duck in the cabinet. My girls didn't like the venison. I found the beef kept separating and the last batch of chicken I bought - was filled with potatoes - believe it was a manufacturing problem and I informed the company - that's how I got the case of duck.

Aside from some quality issues I had with Evo - I like the product.

I also tried another product - Nature's Logic and the girls seem to like all three flavors more than the EVO. The owner of this company came on the board (health) a couple months back to explain the ingredients and why they are in the products. I asked him for samples and coupons and he sent them, so I gave it a try and the girls seem to like it.

Just wanted to let you know about it, so you can check it out for yourself and even contact them to ask for samples and coupons if you want to give it a try and yes, I believe it's low carb.

Happy Caturday, Traci & Boomer!! Yay for your 1st Caturday Report!! Just as an FYI, you are not supposed to cook the Raw at all.. it loses a lot of the nutrients/benefit of feeding raw, I don't reccommend doing that - but it is your choice. Evo food is great, my girls like it sometimes, one of those that they will eat one day & not the next, but it is a very high quality/excellent food to feed.

Yay for you & freedom!! Have fun tonight..... soooooo happy for you & I bet boyfriend is too ;-)

great Caturday report. You can test whenever you want. I tested once a day for a while, then cut back gradually. Now I'm testing once or twice per month, or I would also test if anything seemed wrong.

EVO is good food, I haven't tried the duck but two of mine love the 95% chicken and turkey. I have a can of the venison in the pantry but haven't tried it yet. The venison is supposed to be good for IBD, and I would guess the duck might be good too. From what I've read, it would be good if he'll eat just one food all the time for a number of weeks to see if that improves his condition. If the problem is allergies, and if that food doesn't contain something he's allergic to, then it should help. The EVO 95% are good because they don't have as many ingredients, therefore not as much chance of having an allergan. My vet recommended switching my cats to EVO 95% because of Mickey's tummy troubles, but of course Mickey is the one who won't eat anything other than Fancy Feast.

HI Traci and Boomer!!! Wow how exciting that you get to spend the night away from home, woo hoo!!!!!!! That is awesome! Good luck with the food thing. Which cat feeder do you have? I think I am going to get the Petsafe 5 meal feeder. Have a great night!!!

great caturday report traci! I'm so glad that you get to spend time with the BF tonight ... I know how much strain you guys had on the relationship, both dealing with your own sick pets .. good thing boomer got with the act and went OTJ for you! No food advice, but I'm glad to hear there was no pukus!

heheeheheheee...no numbers to report...how wonderful to hear that!! Spot was otj for a month and the poor thing got tested almost daily. I guess I just never learned to relax. I am so glad to hear that you are getting back life as it used to be, and getting to spend some QT with the dbf. You go girl!!!

I also tried the EVO with Spot. Got the venison, duck, and lamb and he liked both of them. Of course, I have learned that there isn't much that Spot won't eat. His nick name isn't hoover for nothing.....and he really does take after his dad...Leo loved to eat and hardly ever turned down food, lol.

Hi Traci, Wow, a night out!! Good for you! Stu likes EVO 95% Chicken & Turkey a lot. He also likes the "original" EVO Turkey & Chicken (the one that isn't 95 % but that has low carbs anyway). He liked the 95% venison, but tired of it (I think he'll like it again when it is reintroduced). He didn't care for the 95% duck, however. I haven't been able to find the lamb. Another food to try is the "By Nature" 95% varieties (Turkey & Turkey liver; chicken & chicken liver) and also their organics. Stu really likes the 95% turkey & turkey liver. No grains or glutens in any of these.
Enjoy the weekend and enjoy your new freedom! (But don't forget to visit those of us who are still toiling!!)
Ella & Stu

Hi Boomer great Caturday report and so happy you like the canned evo I have yet to try that for Do Lou its on my list of things to try. Have fun at your BF sleepover

Hey Traci, long time no see! Happy Caturday to you too. If you find a good food, be sure to let us know.

Enjoy your own night out -- you earned it!!!

LL Ladies,

Thanks for all the well wishes! We had a nice weather weekend and though I felt guilty leaving Boomer overnight I did it. I have a 5 bowl PetSafe autofeeder that works great.

Dave and I have not had a sleep over in nearly 6 months so it was a big change. Neither of us slept. His dog sleeps in the room (not on the bed, thank GOD) and she just couldn't seem to settle down. She was making noises nesting, licking herself, etc. I'm a pretty light sleeper so eeeverything wakes me up. Every time I woke up I went to the bathroom I think and that probably woke him up. Then in the morning he started snoring and grinding his teeth. :o Despite his dog's terminal dx and age (15) she seems fine 95% of the time. She's doing incredibly well for what she's got. (inoperable adrenal tumor taking over) We went on a nice long walk through the woods and she does fine.

About the raw food - Nicole, I microwave it for about 10 seconds because he won't eat it and this gets him to eat. Over time I'm going to cook it less and less until he'll eat it. That's the plan. I'm trying this and the "good" foods for like Evo 95% and Natural Balance to try to help his puking.

Off to read some condos!!!
