Bear Man has had better days the last few days. His appy is making an occasional guest appearance. Perhaps he is excited about the new pet stroller that we won as a door prize at my vet's open house! His numbers have undergone an improvement from yellow/blue to more blue/green. Maybe he was having an IBD/CP flare that has passed. The better numbers appeared after I had to skip a shot due to my work schedule. Since then, I have had to skip a shot due to low pmps, give BCS doses twice, and give HC once, all in the past five days. Today I reduced his dose from .75U back to .5U, hoping for more consistently shootable numbers.
In other news, tomorrow is Teddy's 11th birthday! Teddy was diagnosed with intestinal lymphoma in November 2004, and given a prognosis of 6 weeks to 3 months to live. In April 2005, in celebration of his making it to his 6th birthday, I threw a big party for him. He is still with me, and the annual celebration continues. On Wednesday (my weekend), all of his favorite aunties and friends will gather for cake and champagne. Teddy is always right in the middle of the festivities, eating cake, ice cream, and potato chips, drooling on the guests, opening his presents by himself, and playing happily with all his new toys.
Teddy came to me at the age of one day old as a foster kitten, after his Mom and littermates were abandoned in front of an appliance store. Here he is in the photo below with his Mom and siblings (Teddy is 2nd from the right). Teddy looks just like his Mom. Today I am also thinking of Teddy's brother, Truman (GA), whom I adopted, and lost a few weeks later to FIP.
