Yesterday's condo

Morning everyone! The mini meals seem to be keeping his BGs up with no drops....but the range is still too high. He was busy working on the back of his neck during the evening yesterday. Both had healthy deposits for the LB and he was very good natured during the night when I had to stagger around and test him. Wonder where he will be today.

Having the coffee yet?
I think its good that Shadow's BG not having major swings and looks nice and level.
Then I would hop that these flatter numbers start ranging lower and lower.
Of course, no expert here but I really felt feeding smaller portions spread out during the first half of the cycle worked well for Max. Inthe afternoon he did not eat very much.
Any parties coming up???
Max needs to visit his friends again.
He keeps asking me when Saturday will be so he can have his condo. He wants to share stuff
with hi buddies, but he is doing very well.

I like the fact that you got some blues yesterday! I'm hoping that the mm continue to help and that Shadow decides to make a nice drop to blues again today.

Next party is at Caryl & Alex's...they are hosting the full moon party on the 28th~next Wednesday! They have 3 birthdays to celebrate!
Can you ask Max to make sure Luna and Bast know about it....along with other who are at the Falls now?

Morning Pat. Maggie does better on mini meals, so maybe this will help Shadow, too. I'm goimg to check out the 5 Safe Feeder today but will wait til end of month to purchase. Have a good day and get some rest when you can, maybe a soak in the sun for some Vit. D! I have so much sunshine here but need to be careful of the sun with sensitive skin to the sun, darn!

Does anyone know about Cushings Disease in felines? Amy & Pedro were told that he should be tested and any information would be greatly appreciated! Hugs to you all!

Pat thanks for the Cushings research. Some symptoms do show up. But like any disease with multiple symptoms, we have some of the symptoms some of the time.

I fed them Sophistacat Turkey & Giblets in the 5.5oz can yesterday 0carbs. I hope that wasn't what made them itch. I had my suspicions with the FF beef and then I gave them Sophistacat beef supreme and beef w/chicken this past week and I;m noticing the skin things with both of them. Less scratching today thankfully.
Today I gave them a supreme can of mixed chopped grill...whatever it's called sigh....I am really starting to hate this food stuff. We are all spinning our wheels about what to feed them. Does anyone know the equation you have to do to get the % of carbs? I'd love to figure out some of the newer brands that aren't listed on Janet & Binky's list.
Shadow is crying by the front door. Almost sounds as if he's saying "ooouuut". Sorry Shadow.

So, let's have a No Reason Party on Saturday night, k? Everyone is invited so you can please spread the word. I am not going to be able to invite everyone personally so I want to get the word out...need your help, k? Seems to me everyone needs a little pick-me-up and a party is just the thing to get us out of our spring fever blah attitude! We can go watch the sun set on the beach for no reason, and dance as if no one was watching~for no reason. Let's also laugh as much as we can ~ for no reason at all! :lol:

Pat, when I'm done chewing, I will pitch in with Betty and make some calls to the food manufacturers. There are new foods available, but I wouldn't dare feed them without have some solid carb/nutrition numbers. It's crazy the impact these foods have on our babies.

Kitty ate the FF Tender Beef exclusively for months -- then the new label came out, and his numbers went up. Back to chicken now, and everything looks good.

(I have a couple of cases of the FF old-label turkey that I will have to return, unless someone wants them - takers? Kitty refuses turkey. Maybe he had a run-in with a nasty gobbler in a previous life!)

When you feed mini-meals, how often and how much do you feed?

Max will be there and make the Canadian rounds. Luna, Bast,Shadoe,Oliver,Booboo & Nova.
Then we will head down and pick up Logan and get Latte on our moonbeam too.
I think Max would love to sleepover and then he and Raja can have a heart to heart with Shadow and really tell him what life is like so far OTJ.

Today I gave mini meals at +3, +5 of about 1tablespoon I guess, then I split a half can at +8 (FF sized can)
add water to the food too and sometimes I add a little raw chicken mix. I am surprised he has last so long without going very low. Had some LB action this afternoon and everyone is napping now. Tough day! :lol:
I had two little naps myself. Not feeling very peppy today. This hourly check is taking its toll but I thought he would bottom out any minute. hmmmm. Never happened...but I am not complaining!

ETA: nice number for PMPS. Maybe they were Magic Poops he had this afternoon. LOL
Don't forget....party tomorrow night over here for no reason at all! Hope everyone can come and practice their giggling and dancing in time for the full moon party at Caryl and Alex's on Wed. Let these party kitties do what they love to do.....get together and have a great time! party_cat
 
Shadow must have heard me thinking. I was going to suggest a dosecrease, but not now... The mini meals are nice because they flatten them out, then we can usually add a little more insulin to bring the flat range down. Maybe Shadow decided to skip that step and come down by himself. :smile:

visit this link and you will find the link to the excel spreedsheet janet put together so you can punch in the numbers on the labels...most # on cans are guaraneteed analysis instead of "as fed," but it's a starting point. i read (somewhere else...can't remember where) that the g.a. has to be close to the "as fed." not sure if the person who stated that knew what they were talking about or not...so don't take my word on it!

i recently had luck emailing purina and getting "as fed" info within two days.
