It's amazing how fast cats get with the new schedule when it involves food! Happy birthday to your sweet teenager.

Have you figured out if the curve is tomorrow or Saturday yet? It can also be a really good source of data if you get a test just before you go to bed every night, if it's at least a couple hours after the shot. Many cats go lower at night, so we can use that data to figure out if the insulin dose needs changing.

Following on from yesterday, I never used the rice sock. I used something like an old pill bottle filled with warm water. It also gave me a harder to surface to poke against.

We have decided on Sunday! My husband gets home from a work trip on Saturday so at least we’ll have two different people to do testing and monitor her. I will be sure to update as soon as we get a curve— I’m anxious for everyone’s thoughts!

Noted on a later PM shot - selfishly I’ve been trying to reduce the number of tests leading up to her curve because I feel bad 🙈

The photo is the month we got her. She was so small, she slept on my head every night. Time flies, what a gift!! 💝

Don't feel bad about poking. They have very little nerves there and poking is what keeps them safe. Plus she gets treats as a reward.
