Fuds spike! I shot a BCS last night after she threw me a 48 at +11.5 (which would have normally been her PMPS), and I did give he a reduction from 2.50U to 2.25U this morning. She had been doing so well with 2.50U that hopefully going with the reducie won't turn out to be a bad decision, but if it does, we will take her right back up.

All went well with the vegan Easter Pizza last night...my Dad even asked me to leave the leftovers! However, leading up to it...the last few minutes here at home, what a fiasco!! I started getting kitty dinners ready a little earlier than usual. As I was going about the prep business, I accidentally knocked Trix's bowl (it was empty) off the counter and it shattered. This is the second bowl I've broken in the last two weeks...I was frustrated with myself, and let's just say I was rather vocal about that frustration. Even though Trix was in the next room, I managed to scare her. She is usually a rock - the loudest thunderstorm that you can imagine ...the kind that shakes the house...doesn't even phase her. But apparently she does not like it when her bean gets upset. So, right before I have to do PMPS, feed, shoot, and head out the door...she is freaked out by StupidBean and dives under the couch. UGH!! Not two minutes later, DaddyBean, who was working on some ductwork in the basement, comes rushing up the stairs and calmly announces, "I just drilled through my finger." Not quite comprehending what I just heard, I asked, "What?"...and he repeats it. Holy s*** (and yes, Shelly, this time I don't mean the fluffy white stuff!). DH is NOT accident-prone, but you wouldn't guess that from the last couple weeks! He's got his hand under the kitchen faucet, blood gushing out of it; Trix is under the couch afraid of crazy stupid MamaBean; and we have to get out the door to go to my folks for dinner in half an hour. UGH again! His finger did stop bleeding pretty quickly, and we then saw that he drilled all the way through the fat pad of his index finger and started to go into the side of his middle finger, too!!!

At this point, I still can't get Trix out from under the couch, even with my spoonful of FortiFlora as a peace-offering. Yep, she happily licked that up, but she was NOT budging! DH, bloody hand wrapped in a towel, finally managed to get her out, although juggling her with the use of one hand was not easy. I finally get her settled for her PMPS...I could feel her tension, but she was relaxing. Then I get that crazy 48...again, right before we have to leave. UGH yet again! I gave her some HC with karo, then gave her dinner. I retested before actually shooting and she was coming up. I did go with a BCS and left her more HC fuds to munch on while we were out. I knew we wouldn't be gone long, but it was still a bit nerve-wracking.

All finally ended well. This morning, DH's fingers look OK...nope, no visit to the ER for this one, either. My Dad is definitely tired, but getting better. He ate a decent dinner, which is good because his appy has been lacking. Crazy whirlwind, though.

I gotta squeeze a quick pre-work workout in. Have a great day, LL!

Omigosh Amy, what a terrible day for all. Well, I'm glad your dad is getting better and ate nice dinner. I know you must have sent me a piece of that pie. I'll be watching the mail. :-D
I hope DH's finger heals completely, and quickly.

I'm with Miss Trixie, it's a bit too chilly for visiting the lagoon this morning. Maybe later today.

I hope today is perfect for you.

Oh wow. What a mess. I'm glad Trixie finally settled down and your DH's fingers are okay. I hope they heal fine. Good luck with the reducie.

That's great the pizza was a hit. Still sending prayers for your dad.

Oh, my, what a crazy, crazy... hour? At least it wasn't the whole day. Vines for DH and your dad. Would love to see the recipes for the pizza and the desert. Anne's BD is coming up (one that ends with a 0 and is the day after she retires) and I want to make something special. And Trix, let's see green on this dose. Way to work your bean for a whole teaspoon of Fortiflora! Yum!

Jiminy crickets...... I don't know who to send more vines to - poor Trixie, poor DH, or you! I'm sending them out to all of you. Hopefully all is going well today. I bet DH's fingers hurt like the dickens. Has he had a tetanus shot lately?

I'm really not laughing at the situation, but I had to laugh at your comment:

Holy s*** (and yes, Shelly, this time I don't mean the fluffy white stuff!).

Thanks for clarifying - you know how easily I get confused! Why can't it ever be s***w when you need it to be!

I'm glad your dad is feeling better. I'm sending more prayers his way!

Boy or boy, what a morning for you, yesterday. I hope DH's finger is healing well. I hope he went to a doctor, just in case. It sounds like a deep wound that you want to keep from healing over.

Poor Trixie hiding under the couch through all that. I bet her little heart was racing. Her numbers look pretty good from your Subject Line, but uh, her ss isn't updated. I wish you luck with the new dose.
And I am keeping your Dad in my prayers to keep feeling better and better :)

Hi Amy,
Getting caught up here. You certainly had an exciting Easter weekend! I'm glad that your dad liked the vegan pizza and that he's feeling better. Poor DH! Edward once drove a nail through his elbow ganglia while we were putting a new roof on the outhouse at our former camp. It was threatening to rain, so he went inside to lie down and I finished the roof before the rain started. We decided that we wouldn't worry about tetanus, etc, etc. (the nearest hospital was 50 miles away).

I hope that Trixie has calmed down and can now resume her good cycles. All of you have a good evening,

Ella & Rusty

...and she's back in the lagoon....and being super snuggly tnis evening  ! She seems to have forgotten about yesterday's chaos, thank goodness. Poor girl...a couple weeks ago I dropped a swinging door on her tail, and now this one. Fortunately she has a forgiving heart!

Thanks for the visits, everyone. The "Fiasco" occurred over about half an hour...compacted all together   . The rest of the day had fallen into place so perfectly smoothly, it only made sense to make the final moments before we had to head out insane!

DH, of course, has not gone to a doc. I can't force him. We're keeping a very close eye on it, so in that sense, I am being a huge nag, asking him many times a day how it feels. It is sore, but so far, no signs of anything "threatening"....and hopefully we'll stay that way.

Holy cow, Amy, that sounds like a scene out of a movie - or a holiday at my house! My DH once dropped a carving knife on his bare foot on the 4th of July when we had a house full of people. I had to take him to the ER, the ribs burned and the group polished off four bottles of wine in our absence! I hear you on not going to the doctor. The only reason mine went was that the wound would not stop bleeding and we were concerned he had cut a vein ( He had - needed something like 9 stitches).

I'm glad Trixie recovered from all the trauma, but don't you feel just awful for scaring her? Been there, done that too!

It's great that your Dad like the pizza so much and ate well. Good nutrition is so important when battling illness.

Yay for snuggles. I hope she surfed safely the rest of the evening.

Sending healing vines to your DH and to your Dad.

Coming in late here Amy, but OMG!!!  What a 30 minutes that was!! I hate dropping bowls - I go through periods of being a klutz with them. And you poor DH, I hope his finger(s) heal okay.

I am glad that Trixie forgave you quickly. I know how hard it is when you have to pull them out of someplace to test or shoot. I think it is just as hard on the bean as on the kitty.
So glad to hear that your dad is feeling better and his appy is improving

Hope you have a wonderful day!
