Argh! Starting the morning with a partial fur shot I still think he got at least half of it, but this is the second time since I’ve been back that I’ve done this. Time off really has me messed up

I’ve had 2 CKD cats in the past. I only used phos binders with one, and that was when he was at a very late stage of the disease.

Hi Briana. It was the Aventi Kidney Complete, but that was over 10 years ago, I'm sure there are other newer products out there now. They were also on Fortekor (Benazapril) to help reduce proteinuria and help reduce the progression of the disease.

Missing someones name in the subject title? Looks like his body did not like the salt and vinegar chips?

I used aluminum hydroxide with Neko, gifted from another FDMB member in Canada. She got it from Thriving Pets. My vet said that if necessary for current cat, she could get it compounded. Originally I had used a meal completer product from TC Feline that had calcium carbonate in it, also a binder, but not as good. Thank you both for all the info! Something I’m trying to keep in my back pocket, as I’ve just spoken to the vet about elevated kidney/renal values. More on that tomorrow!

Aww fur shots are the worst. I started shaving a little patch of fur on Xander's scruff pretty regularly because I hate relying on feel to know it went in right
