Re: 4/19 Nonnie AMPS 552

Well he was just in the 60's during the AM cycle on 4/17, so he could still be bouncing.

Bounces can last up to 72 hours, but with his history of ketones, it's important that you're testing for them.

If more than a trace, he'll need to go to the vet, but if less than that, he may be able to be treated at home.

The more water you can get into him the better though, so if you're not already adding a little water to his canned food, that's a good way to get a little more water in their diet

Come on down Nonnie!! Black doesn't look good on anybody!!.

Re: 4/19 Nonnie AMPS 552

He seems to be getting plenty of water....but I'll add some water...hard to know who'll get it with 18 cats....they move from bowl to bowl, but I'll try to confine him. I have kitty fountains and he drinks a lot....even as I write. I keep trying to catch him in the box to test ketones but have yet to do it. The unusual amount of water drinking is what got me to start wondering about his dose to begin with....thinking it was off.

Re: 4/19 Nonnie AMPS 552

NovaMax has an offer for a free ketone/glucose meter. The strips for the ketone meters are expensive but with he number of cats you have, it's going to be challenging to stalk Nonnie to the litterbox. A blood ketone meter may make this a lot easier.

he's definitely still bouncing, although the pmps +3/287 tonight might say that he's starting down out of the bounce.

that was quite a bounce, Nonnie! no need to be quite such a drama queen!! :-D
