Good Morning LL!
This morning recap - shot 1.0f (today's the first day I tried a fat dose)
AMPS 130
+2.5 86
+5 82
+6 86
Six ate his snacks overnight, but with his PMPS I have to wonder if he ate within the 2 hour window. Maybe not, he was higher than normal at his +3 last night (118). He's just back in from some deck/back yard time.
Three nights ago I decided to start a MC diet. It's bare bones right now and I have some shopping to do. I posted in Health if you're interested. Bottom line, 2 out of our 7 have developed p~titis in the past three months. We moved to LC food four months ago. Six's p~titis might have had nothing to do with the food, but right now, I'm not willing to take that chance and I'm going to start exploring our options from wet food to raw. Looking for lower fat which usually means in commercial food, higher carbs. I would rather slightly adjust Six's insulin than have him suffer from another p~titis attack. If I can keep the carbs in a decent range, the adjustment might not be too much. Today I tried a fat dose because of last night's +3 (usual nadir) and this AMPS (though I know I'm not supposed to use that for dosing purposes...but I knew I was going to feed an MC mix this morning). It seems to be working - at least for today.
Lyle, our civie with p~titis, is home!!!!!! He is doing so much better. He probably could have come home yesterday, but we wanted to make sure all treatment basis had been covered. His IV came out last night. Six and Lyle go back in a little more than a week for another spec-fPl. I am so relieved to have him home...probably about as relived he is to be home. Now if we could just get his blood brother Hugo to stop hissing at him...that's his cuddle buddy and he needs him right now!
Thanks for all of your help and support this week LL!!!!!!!
