Yesterday's Novel

Happy Fursday, LL! Cinco is still recovering from all his activity yesterday. He's currently sprawled out in his hidey hole, sawing logs I-) I-) I-) !

No signs of his messing with the bandage on his leg (the professional one from the oncology staff, as opposed to my poor efforts). I can't get a good look at his tummy without disturbing him, and I am not one who messes with sleeping kitties unless I have to, but from what I've seen this morning he is leaving it alone. Perhaps the collar threat worked. That, and the instructions from his LL aunties! He really is such an obedient cat. Loved his pretty blue cycle last night. Hoping for a little more of the same today. A dosecrease is still on the table, but I think another day of rest after the vet visit is in order before making a decision.

Per Elise's advice, I joined the Yahoo Feline Lymphoma group. I have to say, it's not nearly as user friendly and organized as FDMB!!! I guess I have pretty high standards for these things, now. I have gotten some feedback from people with kitties diagnosed with lymphoma. None with ocular. One said hers was diabetic and did well on chemo, but from what I could gather, her kitty didn't survive very long after competing the chemo - not much info given (Monica and Atticus - does anyone remember them?). After reading posts from people going through the chemo and seeing the problems they were having and how their kitties were feeling, I really am more convinced I want to avoid that if I can. Sounds absolutely miserable for all involved. Our natural inclination is to do everything possible to keep our kitties with us, but I have been through that with two babies in the past, and both suffered needlessly just because I couldn't let go. I do not want to make that mistake again. I am still planning to go with the wait and see approach.

Thanks for all the support and advice and just for being there. You people really are the very best and I feel so blessed to have found this place. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG:
Prayers and good dental vines to Lucy, hugs to Mariko.
Cheers to Davidson, Boots and Jersey on OTJ trials. :RAHCAT
Missing Rachel and Chyna. :YMHUG:

Nice sunny start! I'm glad Cinco is resting. Sawing logs is a good way to spend the day.

I'm glad you joined the yahoo group. We belong to one for Asthma and I agree that it is not nearly as user friendly or bean friendly as FDMB. Of course FDMB set the standard pretty high. Have a great day Tricia!

Re: 4/17 Cinco AMPS 263 +3 209

I totally agree about the yahoo workings vs the FDMB. It didn't used to be that way. They changed to something called NEO and it is awful to use. However, the vet on the lymphoma is a gem and I wish he could be cloned. I lost my lymphoma kitty 4 3/4 years ago but still post with questions on other issues from time to time and so do many I met on that board. I add input when I can about intermediate cell which Tiffany had as it seems more rare than large or small cell as a tribute to my tortie that I think of every day. I hope Jory can give you some extra help as you decide whether or not to proceed with chemo.

Nice blues for Cinco last night. It looks like he's headed that way today. I hope the yahoo group can be helpful to you.

Re: 4/17 Cinco AMPS 263 +3 209

I belonged to the yahoo group years ago, too, when Mr K was battling lymphoma....I agree that it is so much harder to navigate! But, I'm glad you got some great info to help solidify your decisions for Cinco. It is definitely challenging to make these decisions for our babies and you are doing an awesome job!!

I hope you are enjoying a relaxing, collar-free evening!

Thanks for the visits, Melissa, Elise, Carla and Amy. Cinco is doing well today, and I'm happy to see low yellows and some blue. Perhaps that dosecrease can wait just a little longer. He is still more active and social and I'm just loving it! I caught him licking his tummy this afternoon, but when I told him to stop, he did. I sprayed it with that "hot spot relief" spray and he hasn't bothered it since. He hasn't licked it raw yet, so I'm hoping it isn't bothering him too much. The collar is out and sitting on the counter - not that he can see it, but it's ready for action if necessary. Let's hope it isn't!

Thanks Tricia, I miss everyone too, but it's so hard to post right now. I am stalking everyone when I can, but at work I don't want to burst into tears so I don't read condos there :?

I'm sorry that you are having so many things thrown at you right now. It's good you have another group for info too (and I find the yahoo groups SO much harder to navigate too, I am spoiled by FDMB!). I hope that Cinco is now free of anything that would need chemo and he continues to flourish and can be without his cone. Hugs to both of you :YMHUG:
