Hello LL!

Tonight will be short again. I'm pretty wiped and have some research to do before picking up Lyle tomorrow.

SIX

Doing fine. He's had some decent numbers last night. He's outside right now for a spell around the backyard and deck.

LYLE

Our civie with pancreatitis. He's coming home tomorrow morning. His results - 16. Pretty high. Yesterday was the first visit where he was acting himself.

**My research will be food based. I might have to consider increasing carb content to help lower fat content. At this point, it's difficult to believe there isn't a connection between my healthy civie having pancreatitis and food changes in the house. Six also had p~titis at the start of February. I've done some reading on the board...not much and would welcome any links or info people have re: food links to pancreatitis.

I hope to catch up to all the kitty condos this weekend!

Hi, Amy! Six is sounding super & his #s too!! Thankful civie is coming home tomorrow.. I often worry about Sadi having issues with this diet Baby has to be on.. seems high fat.. however, I am lucky enough that I can feed them seperately.. both picky & neither like the same thing... so I only have to leave out Diabetes friendly when sleeping or not home.. which isn't much these days ;-)
Have a fabulous evening & keep us informed!!

Glad to hear Six is doing OK and very happy to hear Lyle is coming home.
I am hoping you are getting pain and nausea meds to have on hand at home and also fluids to give him. Shadoe was really sick and her test at that time was 13.7, so 16 must have had Lyle pretty sick.
I never looked into the foods closely but have since Shadoe's attack been adding tons of water to her delight.
Aside from low fat, I don't know what to say in the foods.

Have you given any thought to feeding a raw diet. I grind my own boneless, skinless chicken and trim the fat down considerably. I use a pre-mix for the nutrients. It seems like many of the commercial foods are fairly high in fat. If you do the work yourself, you have a great deal of control

I'd also suggest posting over in Health on this topic. I think there have been some discussions about protein vs carb vs fat content. You might also want to scan or search the old Board on this topic.

Hi Amy
I always feel like I miss your mrning post until I realize you did it at night.
Hugs to Lyle for him to feel better.
I know you will be happy to have him back home.

Ma was already asking me what our long distance phone plan is. He was not sure what he
needed to dial from the fall but he is all okay now.
Six will be hearing fom him over the weekend.
Saving a place for his buddy.
