What was his pm preshot (pmps)?
I didn't get an exact pre shot reading but at +9 it was 253.What was his pm preshot (pmps)?
I am using a lancet without the guard but it is hard to get a good hold on him and his ear at the same time.It can be tricky to get enough blood for a reading until his ears learn to bleed. You can try doing 2 pokes right next to each other - that way you should find it easier to get a big enough blood drop for a test.
If we assume his pre shot was somewhere close to the +9 reading you got, that's a fairly big drop. The ideal would be that you can get another test around +4 - if you think you can do that?
Ahh - I use the lancing device. I never could get the hang of using the lancet freehand. I know quite a lot of people here do though so I'm sure someone will have some tips for you.
Yeah....but if he's still dropping, you may need to plan on setting an alarm to get another test or two in tonight
Without any data on Brody, we don't know what his cycles are going to look like and we want to make sure he's safe (as I'm sure you do too!)
I have some Hill's science with 22% carbohydrates. We don't intervene with high carb unless they drop below 50, so a lot will depend on how much he drops between now and then.
IF he drops below 50 and you don't have any high carb canned (Like Fancy Feast Gravy Lovers) you can add a couple of drops of Karo/honey/syrup to a little of his regular low carb food
The problem with giving dry is that it takes a long time to get into their bloodstream and a long time to get back out again
Canned? That'll work if we need it!
I'd give him a small snack of his regular low carb food and call it a night.....IF you happen to get up in the middle of the night, or early enough before the AMPS time, that'd be great for you to get another test in if you can
Hi Michael, could you start a new condo for Brody? 4/16 Brody AMPS (and his BG#). If by chance you test and his PS has dropped and you want advice then you could instead reflect "4/16 Brody +12/# - Stalling. Advice please".
So, there's no food left right? You don't want Brody eating within 2 hours of his PS test.
