? 4/14 time to shoot, new to Lantus, PMPS 165, help?

Hi Bron. I’m going to head to bed now that you are here. Alice is surfing nicely. She’s just where you want her Casandra. As long as she’s eating you can steer her with food. Max never had a symptomatic hypo and even dropped under 50 plenty of times. I did print the yellow sticky on handling low numbers until I got used to the routine just in case nobody was around. It is scaryI know.
Hi Elise, it's really good to see you. We don't bump into each other much these days. I hope things are good for you.:bighug:
I think printing the sticky out about handling low numbers is a great idea.

+5 is 102. She's up which comforts me. I am going to decrease snacks slightly and test again at +6 and +7. If she is back on the rise, I may spread things out more. Will need dose advice AM though!!!
Ok I'll be here each hour. You are doing a great job. It is always scary when the numbers drop low in the beginning. I was a basket case first time:eek::joyful:. But you have all the tools to be in control......testing the BSLs and food and honey to bring the numbers back up..:bighug:

Thanks! I have tried to prep, with each thing I learn. I organized her shelves the other day but I am finding I need even more shelf space and wish I had a bed and a mini fridge in her room (currently the bathroom for ease of care and cleanliness issues--ours and hers) for her insulin and then it would be perfect. We could camp out and test and feed more comfortably for days, weeks, months.... I may never do anything else in life again. Just this one room and this one cat and ear blood. Lol.

+6 was 143 up from 102 at +5. So she's going back up. Her belly is gurgling again. Poor thing. I think the gravy flavor upsets her a bit. But I'm less nervous now.

Testing time rec?

Thanks! :)

Have you given her some pumpkin for the gurgling tummy?
She is on the way back up. I know you get nervous so why don't you do one more test at +7 then if it is still going up, leave it til AMPS? How does that sound. You need some much needed sleep.
With the AMPS time you can go back 15 minutes each cycle or 1/2 hour once a day. So your choice.
Do you have to go out to work or are you at home?
If Alice is in the yellows near AMPS, I would go back 30 minutes but if she is in the blue numbers I would go back 15 minutes.
Does that make sense?
You are doing a mighty job looking after your little sweetheart!

Yes that makes sense, and no I am mostly home for the day. I fortunately/unfortunately lost what little work I had. Sooooo at least I have time to nurse!
I think Alice would like a break too.

I gave her 1/4 tsp pumpkin when she was super hungry, 4 hours ago? The hours start to blur so that's a pure guess. She is less hungry now so less interested. But I mixed it with her water/2% pate snack bowl that is out. She is gurgling and lying down. Definitely upset tummy. :(

I'm going to turn off her light and let her sleep for awhile.

Thanks, that's what I figured too! I appreciate your help and support in getting us through another night here. Learning more each cycle. Someday I'll sleep again. With Alice fat and purring in my arms. <3 =^.^=
You should have been asleep an hour ago!! You must take your opportunities when they happen otherwise you will be too exhausted to be any use to Alice.

Sheba was very thin when she was first diagnosed with FD and had very little appetite and she was usually a great eater. But she regained all her weight and her muscle mass and I ended up having to watch she didn't put on too much weight.

Alice her whole 12 years was always very lean. Where was Sheba at in healthy years? Alice never really cleared about 3.5kg.

And yes that's true. I've some properly messed up sleep issues already anyway. Could be light hypomanic thing after this much deprivation. I had caffeine overnight finally too. It takes me awhile to settle--reason Alice needs to get stable for my sake too. I've got a little help in the mornings which is nice. But I am manager so I still have to hear the data and make decisions. She's already in 200s so I will aim to shoot at a 1/4 past the hour and I am in +10....... Crap. I didn't withhold early enough. I think. Hmm.... Sleepy....... Finally. Hah.

Thanks for hanging. Very appreciated. :)
