Awww :(.. yeah it's a really tough balance with Nova.. some days I don't feel like I'm giving her any attention at all unless I'm stabbing her with something :(.. and Nova knows she's safe.. poor foster kitty has no clue what's going on in her life.. but you are doing the very best for her.. she doesn't know it yet.. but you are giving her a ticket to a furever home.. one day she'll look back and realise that you were the transition between the old life and the new.

I'm sure you know this stuff already.. being a foster mommy..but you've had a rought day.. don't think it hurts to hear it!

What a day, Missy. Just dropping by to say Hi and send support. What a fantastic job you are doing...really, just awesome.
What treats are you giving when you test? That seems to be the one thing you can count on that makes it easier. At least she can associate the poking with SOMEthing good. Watching & sending good vibes your way....

betty & hank

She's a meat and potatoes girl -- no time for treats when she can have real food. I give her some Fancy Feast as a reward after I test.

Dawn, I've been thinking, too, that she must be very confused. She got out of a cage in the shelter only to wind up in a home with seven other cats and a human who keeps hurting her ears. I hope her forever home comes along very soon. She certainly deserves it!

Hopefully since she's not going to get any shots for a few cycles (at least)... the FDMB bosses around here will let you go a little easy on the testing.. so she (and you!) can have a bit of a break..

Not sure what sort of tricks you use for comforting scared kitties.. but with my crew.. a clean warm towel fresh out of the dryer is a welcome and relaxing treat to snuggle up with during stress..

I do have to go to bed, but since Kitty hasn't gone up very much, you'll probably want to test again in 1/2 hour. If she's still holding, then feed her, leave food out, and sleep.

Night Missy! Great job, Kitty definitely has some plans that involve a whole lot less insulin.

Good morning to you a little miss don't-touch-my-ears-anymore kitty!

I am hoping that the numbers are a bit better this morning.
Wow, what an evening you had; what a wonderful job you did too!
