Hi all,
Please see Malkis spreadsheet. I have three questions

1) DOSING I was attempting SLGS but she was running down the doses very fast so have been tentatively trying TR. Does it look like she is currently on the correct dose?

2) TESTING FREQUENCY her tiny little ears are quite red all the time now, can I safely dial back the testing? Or will I be at risk of missing a hypo? If so, would it be recommended to drop the +3 am and pm or the +6 am and pm?

3) CURVE I will be doing a full curve on Tuesday (3 days from now). As her cycles seem to run differently at night, would it be ok to do a full day curve i.e both an am and pm cycle or will that hurt her little ears too much? Would it be 2 or 3 hours between each test? Can I put anything on her ears to help with healing them?

Thank you

She’s looking really good. You really don’t need to do a curve as you are testing enough. If you really want to you can test every 3 hours for 18 hours to hit both cycles. But honestly you are catching the nadirs.

When are you feeding? It’s interesting that she’s up at +3 at times and goes down by +6. I’m wondering if it’s a food spike or her onset is later.

Ok that 3 hour for 18 hour one sounds like a plan as that only means two extra tests than what I'm already doing I think
She has 1x 85g can of pate at AMPS and 1 at PMPS (she's learned to get her poke, treat, shot, food, in that order and goes and sits in her cardboard box for it each time, it's so cute)
If she's eaten all her can by around +4 or +5 AM I put out 45g of a raw food mix or a sardine, then pull everything at +10.
At night I leave 45g of raw food around +6 or +7 if she's wants it, but lately her appetite has gone closer to how it used to be and she isnt starving all the time so she just picks at it here and there.

I pour some hydrogen peroxide on a paper towel and just wipe my cat's ear with it a few minutes after testing. I have done this for over a year. It will eventually bleach your cat's ear a lighter color but that is a small price to pay. Your cat's ear won't get infected or get red like it is now. I know a lot of people use ointment, but how would you like having greasy stuff put on your ear and sticking to your hair.
