Hello!

Nice to read that Jake is feeling a touch better.

I read in your SS that your mom is having difficulties testing Jake and that you are away most of the day; a lot of us work all day too. It is very important that you and your mom practice testing. I'm sorry for sounding a little stern, but shooting without follow ups of any kind, by means of measuring BGs is not something we encourage nor recommend. Our primary concern is the safety of Jake, so please try to see if you can squeeze a couple more tests in there specially one before you go to bed.

Jake is reacting well to the insulin, so it would be a shame not to give him a chance at regulation (or better). What do you think?

No worries, it's fine that you're pressing more tests. I got a test in today, he seems much better with me and a little less patient with her with his testing. There are some days where no one is home so I'm gonna have to do more tests after work, he seems to drop pretty low during the night so I think his nadir is somewhere in there. His test today at 3:30pm was 370, this was after a snack though, I'll test him again in a few hours.

Thanks for your comments and concerns!

Update:

Wrote down his 3:30pm test wrong, it was actually 370 (not 340) checked his BG around 5:30 and it was 320. Gonna give his ears a break for a few hours, feed him and before I go to bed test again.

Hi - no expert here, but did want to drop on in and say HI! Jake is a sweetie - I love his photo.

Good luck with the testing! We all know how difficult it is at first. Practice is good, eventually it will so simple, fast, efficient. Eventually it becomes your time together. My guy now comes and gets me at test time, purrs non-stop. I think it is great too that you have someone that can help you. way to go mom!

Excellent job! - nice to read that Jake is responding well.
