Hi Everyone,

Last Friday night we helped our beautiful Australian red kelpie Jess cross.
She had been doing really well and seemed fine during the day, but at 6pm she started to pant and be agitated. She didn't want her meal but she settled down on the lounge chair beside me and I thought she was maybe OK. But things started to progress and she tried to walk and was very wobbly and then fell over heavily, then just lay there. I rang my DD and she and her husband and son rushed over (Jess is their dog, even though she stays with me while they are in an apartment).
She became rapidly worse and had some sort of a fit and was having a lot of trouble breathing. It was obvious that she had had a massive bleed from the tumour. We rushed her up to the emergency and they were waiting for us. She was surrounded by love as she passed.
Poor Jimmy (8) was heartbroken.
We were told it would happen suddenly and it did. It doesn't make it any easier though. She had the most beautiful nature of any dog I have known and she was completely trustworthy around the kids.
The house is now very empty with both Jess and Sheba gone.
Rest in peace beautiful Jess :rb_icon:cat_wings>o

Dear (((Bron))),
We are so sad that it was Jess' time to join Sheba at the Bridge. Jess was such a lucky girl to have a wonderful, loving family. Please extend our sympathy to your DD,DSiN, and to Jimmy. I lost my beloved dog when I was Jimmy's age and know how he feels.

In loving remberance,
Ella & Edward, Rusty, and Stu(GA)

Bron and family, I'm SO sorry it was Jess' time to cross too...but what a life of love you all shared together. Kelpies are such sweet dogs.

Soar high sweet Jess, soar high...

More hugs and prayers for comfort for all of you...

(((Bron))))

I am so very sorry for your family’s loss of beautiful Jess but more so for you and the heartbreak of another one of your very special babies crossing.

Sheba will be with Jess and they will look down to comfort you. In your deepest hour of sadness and silence, I hope you feel their presence.

Much love.....:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I am very sorry Bron... i cannot imaging your lose at this time so close to Sheba... sending love and light to you and your family... may you feel their presence around you daily cat_wings>o:bighug::bighug:

Bron, I'm really sorry to see this - even I know Jess was so loved and you've made the most of these last weeks, it must be very hard to have Jess go so soon after Sheba. Sending many hugs to you all :bighug: :bighug: :bighug: :bighug:

{{{Bron and family}}}

I am so very sorry to learn that Jess has crossed the bridge to be with Sheba. I hope it brings you some comfort to know they are now together again. You have two special spirits watching over you all.

It doesn't seem fair to have a second loss so soon after the first, and I know so well how magnified the grief is when suddenly your home is without a furry presence. Be good to yourselves and take your time to adjust to this new normal. Remember that your L&L Land family is always here for you.

Fly free, dear Jess, and land softly. :rb_icon:
