GA 3/7 Doodles' Very Special Wings Earned Today

Karen asked me to post that it is with great sadness and tremendous heartbreak that she and Joe have decided to help Doodles transition to a life of peace, rest, and easy breathing so he can be his happy Doodles self again. They will be setting him free this morning from his struggle to breathe, which has gotten much worse.

Please send all Lantus/Levemir prayers to Karen, Joe, Doodles, and Moo. Karen will post in a few days when she is able to do so.

Gentle Journey, sweet Doodles. We all love you and will miss you.

Oh, I'm shocked and so sorry to read this. I don't know what to say other than I know how much Doodles was loved and how well he was cared for. This is such a difficult part of having pets. All my best calming, peace-giving energy is on its way to Karen and her family.

I am so sorry to hear that it was Doodles time to join so many of our beloved kitties at the Bridge. Those of us who have kitties who have made that transition know the ache in your heart only all too well. When Gabby crossed, a few days later I came across this quote: "Cats never completely leave you. They side step time, shrug off death - come at the call of memory their beauty undiminished, their touch as gentle, their love perpetual." I hope it offers you as much comfort as it did me.

It is so hard even to read this. My thoughts are with Karen, Joe, and little Moo. Doodles put up a courageous fight and had a wonderful life thanks to such a caring bean who went to superhuman lengths to take care of him when he needed it.

I waited all day to write this, as I just couldn't bring myself to do so earlier. My heart is so heavy and my eyes full to overflowing. I am so very sorry that the time has come to part with your beloved boy. It is no surprise to me that you put Doodles' comfort and QOL before your own feelings, as that is what you have always done. We have all watched you rearrange your life for him and not once complain. Your love for him is that great, and be assured that he knows that. He had every confidence that you would always make the best choice for him, even that hardest choice of all. Now as you face life without his physical presence, know his spirit is there with you still, and always will be. Such a bond as you shared can never be broken.
