What's a girl gotta do to get a little bit of yellow?

Hi Shelly
Good morning! Too bad you really haven't been able to get any real curves on Feeburt yet on this dose because you don't know what's going on during the day. Will you be able to test him during the day this weekend? He's been on this dose for about 6 cycles now and if we could see what's happening in between his shots we'd(not ME..they) know whether or not you should be increasing (which I'm GUESSING will be the case soon), because I KNOW you've read the stickies and increases are based on the readings at nadir, not PS :-D

Otherwise, how is Feeburt doing? No WCR? I know i know you leave for work early and it's all you can do to get yourself out after taking care of the kitties...but it helps to explain WHY numbers are what they are sometimes (ie the 5 P's)

Re: 3.4 Feeburt AMPS 348

Morning Shelly,
Today is your last dose of 3.5u. Up to 4u tonight, midrange numbers are still too high. I would like to see some spot checks at or near +6 if you can fit them in, I know you need to work/sleep, but we do want to make sure we don't miss a drop. For instance, that red yesterday could potentially be the response to movement during that cycle or a previous one, though I do not see anything to indicate that it was.

Please don't be offended when I ask this, but you know not to roll that insulin, correct? It will break down with too much motion.

I hope you have a great day, sending lots of BLUE vibes to lil Feeburt :)

Re: 3.4 Feeburt AMPS 348

Hi all,
I was just wondering myself if I should increase. I do wonder what is going on at +5 and +6 and thought maybe I shouldn't increase until I know. I will be able to check him at +6 tomorrow should I wait to increase until tomorrow night?
WCR...seems fine...looks good. Very purry, seems to enjoy the extra attention. Fur still a little gross but I know how he feels. I had to secret shop a cosmetology school today and I don't think the student rinsed completely so I'm a little greasy too. Tough job, right? ;-)
I do remember that this is a non roll insulin. I keep it in the door part of my fridge. I wonder if it's getting jostled around too much there.
OMG...he's bathing! sorry...very exciting! What are the signs of breakdown. Doesn't it get floaty bits?

Thanks all!

Re: 3.4 Feeburt AMPS 348

I'd say you still have plenty of room for increase.. if he did break, he still needs more insulin as shown in the resulting numbers. And yeah I'd do something to stabilize that insulin. I kept mine in a tupperware on top of the veggie drawers when I was using cartridges. Now that I use vials, I keep them in shot glasses in their little neoprene sleeves :-D

Nice WCR! A bath! WOOHOOO!

Lantus can break down and have absolutely no visible signs of it, so yeah, floaties would be an indicator, cloudy, discolored.. but it can also be crystal clear and completely toast.
