Happy appy, snuggly, spunky, feisty, and anti-jinxes.

Thank you, everyone, for the support and prayers...it means the world to us. Petey is having his surgery this afternoon. This morning we ended up taking him back to the specialty facility where we had the ultrasound done, as our regular vet couldn't do anything until Monday. I think the specialty place is a better option anyway - very, very high-tech place. They did a FNA before committing to surgery; the FNA showed it is most likely not lymphoma. So we still have a chance that it is benign, but since we don't know for sure what it is, technically the procedure is being called "exploratory". They are also going to put in a feeding tube.

Aside from still not wanting to eat and seeming a bit tired, he actually seemed quite a bit better today. He wasn't lip-smacking when I showed him food anymore, although he didn't want to eat. Again it was all kind of slo-mo, but he was trotting around a bit, purring, asking for attention, and I even got him to play a little bit of footsie under the bathmat. So I'm baffled by all of this nightmare.

Please keep the prayers coming....we so appreciate them.

Amy

Still keeping Petey in our thoughts. Boatload of vines from Capt Jack that it is just a benign growth.:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Sending positive vines and prayers for a good surgery for Petey and lots hugs for his Mama. Sounds like a good Specialty Hospital for Petey and his follow up care. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

many prayers for Petey and you Amy this afternoon... waiting for surgery to end is the worst like waiting for morning to come and the vet to open their doors... please let this benign and let Petey be back to his old self... playing and eating... very very soon... sending you strength and reminding you to try and breath :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Got a call. I can't remember everything she said, but the mass turned out to be a very large lymph node. His intestines are all very thick. She took a number of biopsy samples, but isn't sure what we're dealing with but feels it is something very serious, either a cancer (not really thinking it's lymphoma, though) or some sort of bad inflammatory disease. We won't have more definitive info until the results come back next week. So we continue to wait.

I'm sorry to hear this update. I'll be praying for a report that shows it is something treatable. Until then, I hope he has a quick recovery from his procedure and feels better soon.

I'm so sorry the results weren't more positive, but I will continue to pray for Petey that it will be something treatable and he will have a full recovery. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
