Good morning LL! Beautiful green start to the day. Tess scolded me this morning for being so slow getting her breffus out. She certainly has developed a better appetite or else I've finally found food that she likes, Merrick and Instinct. Still waiting for the raw food to be stocked locally. They were just going to get it in when the NV recall was announced and they want to make extra sure that things are clear now.

Purring while testing, preening now and time for btb. check the other Bs later.

Re: 3/3 Tess AMPS~77

Recap:AMPS~77, shot .25u, ate 1.25oz Merrick Surf & Turf 3%carb
  • +2~91, ate .5oz Merrick
    +4~92, ate .75 Merrick

Tess has eaten a full half can of food this morning, now more following her around and trying to get her to finish off way less than that. Hope it keeps up w/ other foods as well.

Very full LB this am, purring happily while being brushed, but preferred to go back to the sunbean on the bed rather than play. Those bems have been scarce lately, got to take advantage :-D

Really haven't talked to the vet since we started Lantus, but am thinking of taking her over just to get weighed so I'll know better just how many calories she should be eating. AND to show off her pretty spreadsheet

Re: 3/3 Tess AMPS~77

Good idea to pop into the vets and get a weight measurement. I drop Shadoe on their big scale every time we are there, but I also try to weight the porker at home.
I stand on my bathroom scale while holding her, then put her down and see my own weight. I know it's not exact, but it's better than nothing.
I do prefer the vets huge hulking walkon scale so we can get down to the teeny numbers.

I try to spread out Shadoe's food during the day and use an autofeeder, so I can see what she ate and what time while I am away at work. You could be right that you have finally got some decent foods that she likes now  But don't get too settled with those two kinds; the day may come when she decides she just does not like them anymore and your search will begin anew

Ah the life of the cat, all stretched out in the sun beams, stopping short of hanging out a DO NOT DISTURB sign for the beans and any others passing by.

I hope your day continues as it's started happy and

Re: 3/3 Tess AMPS~77

Tess has a nice green surf going, +6 & +8 were both 86. Yeah back in greens

I finally found some PureBites freeze dried chicken yesterday. Tess says absolutely the best treat ever, the amount of drool on my hand after she searched all over for anything she may have missed proves it.

There are a few other foods Tess will eat and I really try to keep things switched around to keep her interested. Hopefully the improved appetite will carry over to Wellness, at least as a rotation. She eats 3 servings over a 4 to 5 hour period morning and evening. Usually doesn't go looking for food until close to PS time. Also doesn't like food that has been sitting out much.

Haven't decided which is more important yet, getting an accurate weight or avoiding the stress of going back in the car to the vet, even for a casual visit.

Re: 3/3 Tess AMPS~77

If you can track down a baby scale (or know a friend who has one), that will help for getting Tess weighed. Maybe you can find one on EBay.

Re: 3/3 Tess AMPS~77

Good idea Gabby, I couldn't see paying retail for the amount I'm likely to use it. WE have a couple of balance scales but she won't sit still for it.

She likes Pure Bites eh? :) If you don't mind buying in bulk, this site has the best price we've been able to find.

We get the Pure Bites Freeze Dried Chicken Breast, 11.6 oz. There's a minimum order required, you'll need to order at least 2 of the large bags, or combine with other stuff on the site.
