I started Buster on his antibiotics yesterday, dental Friday, this morning he had exploding liquipoo! Listening to him in the box reminded me that there was something I should be giving him while he is on the ab... forti-somthin? I looked through my old posts but could not find it.

I'll get his amps in 45 minutes.

fortiflora. or any probiotic - we use culturelle, you can find it at your local pharmacy.

give it apart from the antibiotic.

There has been some recent discussion about using antibiotics pre-dental. Basically, unless there is some infection that needs to be dealt with, the use of ABs prior to the dental isn't recommended. If you do a search on the Health board, there is a post by Dr. Lisa discussing this.

Yup. He's got a tooth broken off in the back, it is red/inflamed, so the vet gave us the ab. I'll run out to get the fortiflora today. Poor kitty.
 
will you be getting it from your vet? i haven't seen fortiflora sold anywhere except at the vet's (and not all vets) or online.
