Hi,

It is possible that Tom may be having a pancreatitis flare, since he is showing all the signs of his previous flare...vomiting, scrunched up face, lack of purring.......so I gave him some Burp this afternoon and he seems to be more comfortable. His drinking decreased today which is a good sign. He was eating a bit and peeing large amounts like usual.

I gave him .5U this evening with this BG 319. This am we had trouble with the meter so I ended up shotting blind. I kept hitting a large blood vessel so it is possible the meter errorred due to too much blood. I changed the battery and it seems to be working fine.

I had whacky meter trouble once and it was the battery too. Reminds me to remind people to have an extra battery around for the meter. Noisy was crazy low one day and the battery died without warning, I was scared to leave him to go get another.

Glad he got some bup and hope numbers come down.

spare Battery...that's great advice! gotta see what this meter takes.

My other advice is to have a spare meter. When we first got diganosed I'd ordered a free one online and forgotten about it.
Then it arrived in the mail, same make/model as our other, jsut a different color. Well last weekend, i came in running late one night for his PMPS, and our other meter was no where to be found. Looked and looked, and than GOODNESS for this other meter.
the other has yet to appear...apparently the house ate it. I was so relieved we had this backup meter..same strips worked.

Poor Tom-Tom. Hope he's feeling better after the big "burp" (or did you mean bup? either might make him feel better  ).

Hope Tom will start feeling better now...and maybe his numbers will move on down...
keep Hoping~~~`And keep up with the great work too!

Any thought to maybe giving Tom some Pepsid to settle his stomach? I suspect you know about Jojo's admonition that pancreatitis may be a Pepsid deficiency.
