Good Morning, Everyone,

It's +9 degrees, but expected to be in the 40s today with rain on the way for tonight and tomorrow. I hope the roads will not be flooded for our trip to the IM specialist and ultrasound in Vermont tomorrow. It's going to be a long day. Rusty's appointment is at 11 A.M. (+4.5), but because a ferry is involved, we have to allow 3 hours to get there, so will leave here at 8 A.M. I think I will give him his normal dose, since, even if he doesn't eat much breakfast, he will have eaten most of his nighttime food close to the time we get up (i.e., right before breakfast--this is his pattern). We'll take along some food so that he can eat-- if he will eat--before the trip home. But I doubt that he will want to eat.

Rusty had a good night (after a coughing spell at bedtime). This morning he finished all of his nighttime food and has begun grazing on his breakfast. At present he is sleeping in his little bed by the radiator. He didn't want a schmooze this morning.

Now I've got to get back to filling out the "Patient History Form" and thinking about what I want to say to the IM vet. She is apparently highly regarded. She has 2 cats, especially likes older cats, and is an outdoorswoman.

Wishing everyone a good day and sending vines to all beans and kitties in need,

Ella & Rusty

Morning Ella :coffee::coffee::coffee:

WooHOO we have a blue Rusty this morning. I suspect that the lagoon meister is getting ready to resume his duties. Surf well today Rusty!

BRRRRRRRRRR! I too hope you will have good travel weather, no road issues. That is such a long drive/trip. An adventure awaits. :)You sound very prepared for your IM Vet visit. I hope that you like her, and that Rusty does too. It is always so nice when that happens, added to one who is so highly regarded makes it good. It sounds like a well planned trip. Rusty, you be a good traveler!

Have a great day today. I hope all goes well.

Sorry about the coughing spell last night. I hope he's over that this morning. Nice start. I hope Rusty heads for the lagoon. Sending good vetty vines for tomorrow. I hope you have a safe trip.

Good luck with the vet visit tomorrow. I hope that the driving and ferry trip go smoothly, and that the procedure goes well. I will be interested to hear what the IM vet has to say. It's great to hear that she is a cat person.

Oh how I hate listening to coughing spells. *worry*
Nice start today Rusty!
I think somewhere in the world it is spring but not for us Northerners.
Telling a new Vet the "whole story" can be daunting so take your time. I love your description of you new Vet!

Don't you wish Linda could go too? Or maybe just perch on your shoulder and whisper things in your ear. :) Many vines for a safe and helpful trip. Surf safely, LagoonMeister. :D

What - no schmooze today? Rusty, are thinking something's up? Fortunately it's not your BGs. :D

I love the description of the IM vet too. One of our local vets is well known for how she treats older cats - she's very popular. Sending tons of vines for a safe trip tomorrow and good results.

Oh, Rusty. Just another journey in your vast travel resume! Easy does it.

IM vet sure sounds like a winner. (I loved when the head of the radiology/oncology dept. at CSU pulled out her phone to show my pictures of her cats as we walked down a hallway.)

You know, Ella, you're taking a whole crew of invisible spectators along.

Vines to your special boy.

Marilyn and Polly

Ella, Thanks for the heads up regarding the new Arkay strips-I missed one day on this forum and looked what changed- sheeh!

Your IM sounds ideal, fingers and paws crossed for safe travel there, and for a good visit and result.:bighug::bighug: I echo what Linda said, I hope you will get the low down before you leave. The IM who did Tiger's US did not comlete his report until the day after, but at least our vet called to say it looked good so I did not have to bite all of my fingernails to the bone.:nailbiting::nailbiting:

Hi again,
Rusty had another lower green surf today, and given the probability that he probably won't care to eat much tomorrow, I decided to shave a drop from his dose tonight: a skinny 0.75 (1.12mm on the digital calipers, Terumo syringe).

So we are all set to go to the Peak Veterinary Referral Center in Williston VT tomorrow for Rusty's examination by the IM specialist and the U/S. I got all the things together that I want to ask about. It has taken me 2 days to do this!!
We will leave at 8 A.M. (+1.5) and probably won't be home until the very late afternoon. We'll take Rusty's little bed (which fits in his carrier), his "car seat" (the fleece blanket he sits on) and another fleece to put in the carrier for him to snuggle in on the way home. And, of course, his smaller litterbox--the one we take to NYC. Fortunately it won't be too cold tomorrow (but rain is expected all day). He's so proud of his beautiful coat and I feel sorry that he will have to have his belly shaved. We'll take some food along for the return trip, but he hardly ever eats on trips.

Thanks to everyone for your good wishes.

I'm sending lots of vines for you and Rusty tomorrow!! I hope everything goes well, and I hope the trip isn't too stressful. I was feeling sad for Billie about having her belly shaved too, but she is so fluffy that it's barely noticeable unless she is lying on her back. Rusty looks very fluffy too, so hopefully he will hide the shaved patch well. I'll be thinking of you guys.

Sending a ton of well wishes and good vetty vines for tomorrow. Have a safe trip!

Tobey and Gracie will bring KTSS with Tess when Rusty is home!
