Yay Boomer! I was reading your condo from yesterday and felt sad because you probably see my kitty doing so well and think ugh! But....you are doing so well! The first month and a half on lantus for me was so hard because I wasn't seeing much results but the past couple of weeks have been a complete turn around. It is sooooo ok to vent, I do it all the time! Boomer is doing awesome!!!! Hope you have a great day!

Yesterday was just a bad day for me is all. Thanks for the support and congrats on the dose reduction to .75

My Mom's cat Francis was doing terribly but as soon as he got put on Lantus he went OTJ in a month. I wasn't jealous though - probably because I felt like he was my "project" and it was my help that got him better - she had no other help except me and what I learned here that I told her about. Crazy!

Wait till you have to measure out a "fat zero" - that's when you see that every syring is different. But Carolyn's tip on my thread from yesterday is a big help in getting it accurate.

How did you come up with Scrabble's name?

Yeah I am sure that is going to be scary trying to fill the syringe with that little amount, hope I get there! WE all have bad days, I know I do for sure! I got Scrabble at 8 weeks old from the humane society and that was the name they gave him, I loved it so I kept it! Have a good day today!!

Traci -

Boomer is doing phenomenally well. Come and live in my condo for a week if you want to acquire a different perspective. The reality is that we have very little to do with our cat's progress with diabetes. We make sure they get their insulin, feed them appropriately and do whatever it takes to make the process go as well as possible. Other than that, it's up to them. Boomer is on his own schedule; you're along for the ride.

I like what Sienne said. Most of us are familiar with caregiver burnout. It is also difficult to watch others blow by you with their progress, but, as you noted yesterday, there is always someone else who is having a harder time of it. Boomer is doing really well. I love to see IBD kitties like him doing so well. Just enjoy your kitty and continue giving him what he needs.

Hi -

Yes, Sienne- you are right. It's all relative depending on who your comparing your cat to. I just looked at your SS. What a big range of nembers she gets in one day - from pink to green sometimes. It does seem like 1.5 is the right dose for her. Do you work during the day? it looks like you're able to test her a lot.

EEEEkkkkk!

I did give him a little food that was left in his feeder; about an hour and a half before his ****. That may have raised his number a bit. We're both chillin' after 40 minutes of Reiki tonight. i could feel the tingling up to my wrists tonight; sometimes it's really strong.
