Re: 3/24 Zener PMPS 206;+2.5 175 2 yr Annifursary
Thanks to everyone for visiting Zener today on his 2nd annifursary. It is such a bittersweet thing isn't it? We know we would not still have our guy without everything we have learned here, and we are so grateful. We could not be doing this without you all. :YMHUG:
It's not been one of his better days, seems to be having some tummy issues which have been ongoing since diagnosis. The appy stimulant worked this morning and appy picked up so we could relax a little. His numbers were flat yellow, so could be interesting tonight. This is his sixth cycle since the last greens, so we may be looking at a dosecrease in the next day or two.
@Lyresa - he is feeling a little better tonight. Our weather warmed up to the 50s today, balmy.
@Ella & Rusty - we're never quite sure if it is a hairball or possible asthma. Both kitties have been eating whatever tiny blades of grass they can find in our yard lately. The cypro we use for appy stimulant is an anti-histamine and can help asthma too. Yes, our snow is long gone in town. The ski area up on the mountain is still open, but the cross country ski center is closed. Liz got out for a bike ride and I went for a nice long walk this afternoon sans coat, gloves and hat!
@Michelle & Mannie - can you believe it's been two years? Sometimes it feels like such a short time and other days we can't remember what our lives used to be like. ;-) Zener is still not that eager to eat his pill pockets, so I dusted them with fortiflora - nom, nom, nom. He may never eat them again without it.
@Ann & Maggie - thanks for the healing and tummy vines. I am glad for him to have breffis in bed with me, but I sleep through it. Zener had a "normal" poo this morning!
@Sienne & Gabby - you are so right, we shall focus on celebrating being part of this wonderful community! I wonder if pill pockets rubbed in fortiflora qualify as a treat?
@Courtney & Kismet - fortunately, Zener only takes 1/8 of a zantac tablet, it is quite small, makes me crazy when I cut them into eights! And thank you for reminding us to celebrate the time we get with our fur babies. Thank you for the many more wonderful year wishes!
@Ann & Tess - ah, I guess Zener really is pretty healthy considering the FD, CKD and GI issues. He is such a happy guy and works so hard to help us take good care of him.
@carla - thanks for your kind words about our bean-ness!
@rachel - ah, that's so sweet. Zener takes it all in stride, and is much less worried than we are. His new year's resolution for us last year was "pet more, worry less."
@Josie - thanks for the vines, and Zener is definitely a sweetheart, he's not bitter about anything!
@rhiannon - a blessing, you are so right, every day we have is a gift!
@Amy & TrixieCat - we do wish he didn't have diabetes or any of his other health conditions and that he stayed young forever! And we know that isn't the way things work, so we do our best to appreciate each and every day we all have together, always full of love!
@Dyana - no special treats for the big guy today, unless pill pocket rolled in fortiflora counts! Thanks for your kind words about getting to know us.
@Wendy & Neko - he is feeling better tonight, appy is pretty happy and he's had several picnics!
Zener had only one poo today, fully formed and "normal" for him! The petdophillis probiotics seem to be helping post dental ABs. We never could get him to take any yogurt, we even tried fortiflora on yogurt. He thought we were trying to poison him. Tillie thought it was delicious.
Wishing everyone a calm and peaceful Sunday evening in LL.
