Gracie's 3/19 Condo

Happy Sunday, friends. I hope you and all your kitties have been doing well. Many vines to all in need and we hope that Tess, Max, Doodle, Tricia's crew, Amy's Dad, and Elise's Mom are well. Extra special prayers for Amy's Dad and hope he recovers quickly from pneumonia.

Missy G has been doing well and enjoying springtime. GA Zener's mom, Liz, came by for a visit this morning. It was so great to see her. Tobey acted like she was his long lost bestest friend ever but Gracie was a little more reserved this time than the last. I think she was still thinking of our most recent house guests, one of whom shrieked every time Gracie got near her since she was allergic to cats. Gracie did get down where Liz was and played but she was just a bit more aloof than usual.

Her BG continues to be wonky and since we were getting to the end of the pen, I changed it this morning. Hopefully, that will do the trick and, if not, she will get a dose increase. She had several lovely b2b cycles and then .....flat yellow.

Mike is doing better but still coughing and definitely far from 100%. I'm doing really well now; I think overloading on Airborne, echinacea and zinc, and dayquil really helped me nip it in the bud. I'm glad Mike has one more week before he even has to think about going back to work.

I'm not sure how much I will be around for the next couple of months. Jason is coming Apr 3 for a week but I've got to really commit myself to work for the last push to retirement. I expect I will be putting in close to 40 hours/week to finish the environmental document for my copper mine by the end of July. I'll probably try to do as much on weekends as possible when Mike is gone. I've realized that I can only spread myself so thin and I am pretty much the only one caring for my mom now....her finances and her medical issues since she let her nurse advocate go. Once I can get my retirement behind me, I'll have so much more time to devote to FDMB again. I feel bad when I post a condo for Gracie but don't have time to get around to see you all. I'll at least try to be on a couple times a week but I've just realized I am not superwoman and my priority has to be my family and getting my work wrapped up.

Speaking of my mom, her BP spiked to 235/165 and heart rate about 140 bpm on Thursday and she was so confused it was scaring me that she had had a stroke or TIA. She was talking to my dad who passed away 11 years ago. So, back to the hospital. They admitted her Thurs and looks like they will release her Monday. They got her BP and heart rate under control quickly with IV drugs. Looks like the source of the confusion was a UTI. She and Elise's Mom have so much in common. She's doing much, much better now.

Have a wonderful day. Thinking of you each and everyone and feeling blessed you are in our lives. :bighug::bighug:

Hi Marje,
I am glad to hear that your cold is better and you had a nice visit with Liz!
Healing vies to Mike for quick and complete recovery.
Many many prayers for your mom.
It sounds like you have a lot on your plate. Please take care of yourself too. :bighug:

Hi Marje,
You certainly have a lot on your plate at the moment. You must look after yourself too.:bighug:
I am really sorry your Mom's BP spiked like that. That must have been scarey for you, and for her. That is good though they were able to find the cause and treat it quickly, and that the cause was a UTI and not something harder to treat.
Poor Mike - some of those bugs are hard to shift - and it can be exhausting coughing all the time. Hope he feels better soon.
Poor little Gracie - her confidence was shaken by that horrid cousin - who wouldn't feel a bit unsure if every time you went near someone they shrieked! Gracie, you need to become a girl guide - so you can be prepared for anything!:cat:

We understand you have to take care of yourself and your family. Post an update when you can.

I hope the new pen helps Gracie's BG come back down. I'm glad you had a good visit with Liz.

Sending prayers for Mike and your mom. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Marje,
We'll miss you on a regular basis, but you'll feel the good vibes coming your way from your L&L family.
Get that paper finished and don't let other distractions slow you down. Edward and I are both familiar with publication deadlines and how much they can rule your life!
Sending lots of good thoughts for your mom. Maybe you can find another nurse-adovcate.

Hugs to you and Mike and scritches for the kitties,

Ella & Rusty

Hi Marje.

We've missed you. Glad to hear you're feeling better and that you dodged the worst of the bug that got Mike. Sending him lots of healing vines.

Sorry to hear your DM gave you a scare. Is she in Tucson with you or are you trying to help her long distance. She's in my prayers.

You take care of business and check in when you can. We understand and we're all thinking of you.

Gracie was in the same spot as when Lupita comes, but at least she didn't hisssss as me! :joyful: :joyful: And I did get in a few skritches. Her fur is super soft. :) And of course she is a Princess so she couldn't be too familiar. Tobey was a sweetheart, I think Gussie (GA) was directing him. Hugs to you, Marje. You definitely need to take care of yourself and your family first.
Liz

(((Marje))) We missed you, (little bit of Lupita Friday Withdrawal )but absolutely, you must take care you and the family first!! Mega vines for Mike and your DM- I know how scary that is with her far away, it's so hard! Know you will all be in my thoughts and prayers! :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Sending extra vines for Mike and DM and some super human vines for you to help you plough through that paper. Loves and Scritches to the kitties.

Hi Marje - I'm sending lots of vines to your DM, and to you and Mike too. Don't feel bad if you can't post! Of course you have to take care of your family and yourself. FWIW, I do think you're superwoman. We'll be thinking of you.

Hi Marje.... I think you truly are Superwoman !!! Definitely family takes priority over all. Once you actually do retire I'm sure things will get a easier :)

Glad to hear both you and Mike are feeling better!

Hope the new pen will get Miss G back on track.

Sending prayers for your Mom, hope it was the UTI that was causing her problems.

You have always taken care of everyone ....now it's time to take care of yourself and get through the next few months.

Marje, Sending you my good thoughts, Prayers, and lots And lots of Hugo :bighug::bighug::bighug:
