Gracie's 3/19 Condo
Happy Sunday, friends. I hope you and all your kitties have been doing well. Many vines to all in need and we hope that Tess, Max, Doodle, Tricia's crew, Amy's Dad, and Elise's Mom are well. Extra special prayers for Amy's Dad and hope he recovers quickly from pneumonia.
Missy G has been doing well and enjoying springtime. GA Zener's mom, Liz, came by for a visit this morning. It was so great to see her. Tobey acted like she was his long lost bestest friend ever but Gracie was a little more reserved this time than the last. I think she was still thinking of our most recent house guests, one of whom shrieked every time Gracie got near her since she was allergic to cats. Gracie did get down where Liz was and played but she was just a bit more aloof than usual.
Her BG continues to be wonky and since we were getting to the end of the pen, I changed it this morning. Hopefully, that will do the trick and, if not, she will get a dose increase. She had several lovely b2b cycles and then .....flat yellow.
Mike is doing better but still coughing and definitely far from 100%. I'm doing really well now; I think overloading on Airborne, echinacea and zinc, and dayquil really helped me nip it in the bud. I'm glad Mike has one more week before he even has to think about going back to work.
I'm not sure how much I will be around for the next couple of months. Jason is coming Apr 3 for a week but I've got to really commit myself to work for the last push to retirement. I expect I will be putting in close to 40 hours/week to finish the environmental document for my copper mine by the end of July. I'll probably try to do as much on weekends as possible when Mike is gone. I've realized that I can only spread myself so thin and I am pretty much the only one caring for my mom now....her finances and her medical issues since she let her nurse advocate go. Once I can get my retirement behind me, I'll have so much more time to devote to FDMB again. I feel bad when I post a condo for Gracie but don't have time to get around to see you all. I'll at least try to be on a couple times a week but I've just realized I am not superwoman and my priority has to be my family and getting my work wrapped up.
Speaking of my mom, her BP spiked to 235/165 and heart rate about 140 bpm on Thursday and she was so confused it was scaring me that she had had a stroke or TIA. She was talking to my dad who passed away 11 years ago. So, back to the hospital. They admitted her Thurs and looks like they will release her Monday. They got her BP and heart rate under control quickly with IV drugs. Looks like the source of the confusion was a UTI. She and Elise's Mom have so much in common. She's doing much, much better now.
Have a wonderful day. Thinking of you each and everyone and feeling blessed you are in our lives.
