I hope everyone has had a great week. We have been.... well, busy again! :woot: I just can't imagine not being on the go. :) It keeps us out of trouble, and makes for great times. ! I often think back on the weeks happenings, and wonder how in the world did we do all that! :woot: o_O:joyful: It was the same this past week. We just seem to pick up and go each day, no questions asked, since we all know FUN AWAITS! It has been an intersting, yet fun, and overload busy week, as Erin and Jason, aka Nicholas and William's mom and dad, have been on vacation. Which meant: we were off to do things as a family, on a few days. That was so great. I think it is so great when working parents get a vacation and spend alot of it just being with, and playing with, their kids. We were able to see the Pompeii Exhibit at the Sciene center, Play at Bothell Landing Park, and Swim at the Snohomish Aquatic Center as a family. WHAT FUN! As always I am grateful for all those that help us on a daily basis, friends, people that know us at the places we go, and though I write this each week, still my local barista! It cracks me up when I walk in that door and my order is already in the works. :coffee: Life is very good!

It has been a good week in the pool. It has just become the norm for us, we go each week, and just never tire of it. It proves to be such fun for both boys, and their excitement with it all has not wavered. :):joyful::cool: Nicholas continues to watch lessons, we are getting closer I think to having him accept that he really should be in swim class. This week he really enjoyed what he saw, and agreed with me that he would be the best swimmer ever! :) OK... So I'm trying to beef up his ego a bit and add some confidence to what he knows inside is really true. New enrollment is in two weeks, so we shall see how this goes.... new things can often be intimidating for him, even though he really knows he can do what he sees the kids doing. William is doing great! pool time for him is as much fun as it is for Nicholas. His pool has a great beach play area for little kids, and he really enjoys all that it has to offer. Cannons, and Geysers, and of course the Slide (!!) are his faves. We continue to work on underwater acceptance. he really has no problem with it, and can now stay under a bit longer. Friday was family swim night. Mom and Dad came to swim with the boys. What fun that was. Nicholas got to show off, and was so excited to have his mom and dad swim with him. William enjoyed the "new" pool, and had such fun with their slide and water play area. Of course Nicholas had mom and dad on the Big Blue Slide. We all took turns going down with him. WOOT, one happy family.:p:joyful::woot::woot::woot: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night were our swim days this week.
That's alot of pool time!
GO NICHOLAS! GO WILLIAM!

William: I LOVE WATER!

The Friday Night Burger Feast for Nicholas, after his swim session at the Snohomish pool, will be always on the highlight list. He looks forward to this every week, starts asking about it on Wednesday when he first sees me. He just LOVES those cheeseburgers with extra pickles! :woot: It is such a positive and fun thing for both of us. I wouldn't stop this tradition for anything, or until he decides it is time. This Friday was extra cool, as William was able to join him. Chaos in my car, as they devoured cheeseburgers with extra pickles, and a boat-load of fries. It really was such fun.:):):):woot:

The boys and I continue to be very busy. :joyful: We have had a decent weather week too, sunny skies for most of the days, warm temps, with us hitting the 55/60 mark. Spring is for sure coming. :woot: We have come up with a great list of indoor places, and this week we used them when we needed too, when the weather was questionable, with friday morning being the most "iffy" day. ;) :joyful::woot: Mondays was awesome! It was family day at the Pacific Science Center. We all went to see the Pompeii exhibit, and then spend what time we could doing all there was there to offer. The boys sure had fun showing mom and dad all their fave things. A great day, and Pompeii was very nice! Such a great glimpse into the past. Thursday was spent at Bothell Landing Park, with the boys mom and dad making that part of the day too. They came to swing and slide and hang out with the boys, as we wrapped up another busy day. Friday we were at the Aquarium. dodging rain drops. It had been a few weeks since we had gone there, seemed like a good choice to the boys. When asked if they wanted to go , I got a "YES!!!!!!!!!!!". So off we went. A great day with the fishies!:cool::cool: We also spent some time with my MIL Connie, after Nicholas's swim on Wednesday, as she watched William for me. William just LOVES to go there. On the drive over he kept saying: "Connie! Connie! Connie!" Per tradition, after Connie's we went to the Meadowdale Play Park. Another great spot for young kids. We had good weather, the boys so wanted to play, both made a few new friends. SWEET! It was indeed an awesome week. I thoroughly enjoyed sharing what Nicholas , William, and I do with their mom and dad.

William and Nicholas: Civil Engineers, Hard at Work!

For my own personal time, I continue to hike the local trails here when I can. I still haven't made that mountain hike, but all in good time on that one. ;) We have had minimal snowfall this year, so hiking trails are opening early this year. :woot::woot::woot::woot: I have read that the North Cascades Highway will reopen soon, so back to the moutnians for me as soon as I can get there. :woot::woot::woot: The road is being plowed and cleared and avalanche controlled as we type. YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :joyful::joyful::joyful::joyful::joyful::joyful: Tuesday, after having Breffis with my son Anthony, I headed on over to the Darrington area to hike a rural distance connector (city to city) trail that runs from Arlington to Darrington, about 28 miles one way: The Whitehorse Trail. it is under development, so only a portion is "ready to go". I did the 6 miles section just west of Darrington, heading into town. LOVED it! It will be great when finished, as the whole trek runs near the Stillaguamish Rover, and offers several mountain views. What a nice day out on the trail. I've also spent doing the local stuff, mainly Meadowdale.

Normalcy in Three MusketeerVille! :cat::cat::cat: The kitties are doing well. Elsa is still into her game, active, and getting out when she wants, 18.5 years and still making her rounds. Bug is being bug, my stoic affectionate Mannie wannabe kitty. Lola is well.... Lola. Still my wild and crazy girl. this past week I've had a few nights where she has climber under the covers, and curled up next to my stomach and slept there for a while. She just purrs and purrs....
For this week: a for sure on that normalcy in MusketeerVille. :cat::cat::cat:

Mannie, the ultimate sun worshiper, right down to the squinty eyes!

Have a great Caturday everyone! Today has been catchup day here. Shopping and laundry done, and just being a little lazy. I hope to get out for a walk after I post this, for some fresh air, and to exercise the legs some. It will wet one here today, or so they say so I had better get out soon. Sure would be nice if the winds would die down some too.

KITTIES!! Remember: BLUE, think GREEN :cat:

How fun that mom and dad got to see what Nicholas and William do when they're with you. I love the picture of Mannie. I think of him whenever my kitties are laying in a sunbeam.

Just being a little lazy??? Woman, even reading your condo's makes me tired!!!

Sounds like a great time was had by all and it's really wonderful that the whole family got in on the swim time!

Every time I read your condo's and hear about Nicholas's love of pickles, it reminds me of my youngest son. From the time he was a very little boy (under 2) he loved pickles...to the point where when the pickle jar was empty, he'd drink the juice! Ewwwww!!! But he loved it!!

Better rest up....new week of adventures is almost here! :)

Hi Michelle--I love that picture of Elsa--I could have used a double shot this morning! It sounds like Nicholas is almost ready to commit to the lessons, fingers crossed! Love all the pics as always, but those with the boys swimming are just delightful and who could not love that last one of Mannie, soaking up the sunshine! :joyful::joyful:

I am getting excited about the North Cascade Hwy. opening up- that is an annual trip for us as well! I was reading the Times- it is almost one year to the day since the Oso landslide- it blows my mind a year has passed that quickly! :woot: I love your pics of the Whitehorse Trail- never been there! Your pictures of the salmonberry in bloom reminds me that yesterday marked the return of the most beautiful male Rufous Hummingbird at my feeders- it is a sure sign of spring Yeah! Have a great rest of the weekend!

I feel like such a lazy person after reading your condo's Michelle! So much fit in such a short week. Those boys are amazing. Their parents must have had fun too.

Cute picture of Elsa - though what's that picture in the background in the top right corner? ;) Love the Mannie pictures as always - he really was a true sun worshiper.

I was thinking the same thing as Ruth when I saw the pic of the salmonberry blossom - where are the Rufous? A true sign of spring they are.

Morning Michelle,
Whew!! Just catching up on you and the boys' week of fun packed activity. Elsa, I'll take a Triple Espresso this morning. I love that pic of sweet Elsa. She looks like a young kitty. A big awwww.....on pic of Mannie and love his squinty eyes. Nicholas and William are getting so big. Love all the pics and so nice Erin and Jason had a fun staycation to join in all the fun.
Hugs and scritches from us.

Happy Sunday everyone! :coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee:
Our local kitteh barista, Elsa, has been hard at work, making sure all her morning coffees are perfecto. We seem to be making an orange mocha. cool! ;)

I am sorry I missed just about everyone yesterday. I went for a hike, a local trail, after I posted the condo, and when I got back my DD, DSIL and the boys had come over for a visit, and to help with a new computer install. My DSIL, Jason, is a computer wizard, it is so great to have one of those in the family :) Anyways, new comp for DH up and running, after several upgrades, and file transfers and all that stuff one does when you replace a failing one. I even manged a nice big wide screen monitor out of the whole thing. YAY! :joyful: It was a great time with the boys. Nicholas helped dad some, William supervised.:rolleyes::cool: It is so cool to have such wonderful assistants! We played legos and kindle games and ate and hung out some. A nice afternoon with the family!

My walk through the woods to the Meadowdale shore was great. We were supposed to have this awful rainy day. I think that the weather guys forgot to look out the window,... we ended up with sunshine most of the day, some winds, but no matter. Hike was nice, I love those woods, and the creek that runs through it, in the sunshine. I think I did about 5 miles, climbed a few hundred feet, had a blast.

@carfurby Morning Carla :coffee::coffee::coffee: it really was a fun swim night, and the other times we were all together too. Boys loved having mom and dad there to play with them. What a great time! Thanks on the Mannie photo. it was such a nice day here, lots of those sunbeams, and that always makes me think of him. He loved the sun. :)

@Chris & China Morning Chris :coffee::coffee::coffee: LOL on the little lazy. It's like I don't know what to do with myself when I have "nothing" to do. lazy always comes to mind. HAHA. And then I wonder why I'm tired. DUH! THX, it was a good time for all. I love it when mom and dad can come and be with the boys adventures. Nicholas was so excited to have his mom and there for our FR night swim session. awesome stuff! TOO FUN on your son and the pickles! that is Nicholas. He has loved them since he was little, and he too will drink the juice! LOL on the rest up, but it is true... another crazy busy week starts tomorrow. YAY!, and bring it on! :):)

@Tiger and Ruth Morning Ruth :coffee::coffee::coffee: THX on the Elsa pic. She's such a beauty, and I thought it was a good pic of her, captures some of her personality. :joyful: I so hope on lessons for nicholas. It has been such a "battle" . That has always struck me as so odd, as he really does love the pool. I have to agree: that Mannie photo is the best! ME TOO on the North cascades opening up so soon! I read they are now plowing,. YAY!!!! I can't wait to get back there, even if it is just a drive through to start. I thought that too on the Oso landslide, especially when I drove right by it on Tuesday. Quite the experience to see it for real. I enjoyed Whitehorse, a new one for me. It's not something I would do all the time, but when just wants a good "walk", or a nice winter hike spot this would be good. Nice on the hummingbirds! haven;t seen any in my yard yet....

@Wendy&Neko Morning Wendy :coffee::coffee::coffee: We do keep busy. Boys like it that way, with a few short breaks to veg in between. They are alwyas looking for the next adventure. Oh yes on mom and dad - they loved spending the time doing some of our adventures. It is great for them to see the boys in action, and play some too. LOL on the Elsa photo and the "other one" I so had to laugh when I went back a read through what I had written and noticed that too. it is a Hard Rock cafe pic, and looks more suggestive than it really is. ;) THX on Mannie's pic, that one is such a fave of mine. I haven't seen the hummingbirds yet either... I will have to starting watching for them.

@Ann & Maggie11 (GA) Morning Ann :coffee::coffee::coffee: THX for the visit! So cool to hear from you. How are you, and Katie? Elsa says to tell you she is on her way, loaded with tasty beverages! :joyful: THX on Elsa's and Mannie's pic. I like them too, I think their personality shows through, and we all know what a sun worshiper Mannie was! He was a master at finding those sunbeams.:) I know on the boys... growing up way too fast! It was great that Erin and Jason could take some time off, and spend some of it having those adventures too. It was such a great time for us all. :joyful:

Hi Michelle,
That certainly was a fun week. The boys really look like brothers, now that William is older. The pool shots are great. I'm so glad that Nicholas is getting interested in the swim class. He'll love it once he gets started.

The Whitehorse Trail looks fantastic. What a great thing to connect communities by a foot trail so that people can get away from the highways. I've seen those black and red caterpillars here, too. I think they are Monarch caterpillars. Do you know?

It's great that the weatherman was wrong and that you could get out on the local trail this morning. Our temperature early this morning was +5: not particularly wonderful for a Sunday stroll! (it's up to +10!)

Enjoy the day and the upcoming week. Elsa looks really good, and, of course, her coffee is superb as always. Love that pic of Mannie!

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Happy Sunday continues! I did make a short hike/walk at Picnic Point Beach, missing the sunrise, but that's OK. Color was still somewhat there, the beach was deserted and actually quite nice. Until I slipped on a wet slope, and banged my shoulder. OUCH! Well, all is well, bruised is all, slight muscle pull, but we shall survive. Sheshhhh! Not a way to start the day. Even so, I still love those morning walks on the beach, with some really good coffee as a companion. Ever so nice!

@Ella & Rusty & Stu(GA) It was! We just really had alot if fun, made more so when the boys mom & dad could show for some too. The boys really enjoyed having them there too. I so agree on William: they do look alot alike. And alot of the same preferences. it will be interesting to see if that continues as they get older. I so hope you are right on Nicholas and swim class. I know he'd love it if he'd just take the class. We shall see....:rolleyes::woot::):) I enjoyed the Whitehorse trail. it is WONDERFUL to have these connector trails where folks can connect to communities via a trail. When done it will be set for bikes as well as horses, and hikers too. It was one of the better ones I have seen, as you can see the river and the mountain too. I had thought the same n that caterpillar, that it was a monarch, but in looking at a website it appears that it is a Tiger Moth??? Not to sure, but did see that Monarch Butterfly caterpillars are predominately cream color, with black stripping. And.. OH NO on your temps! Not too conducive to being out for sure. I will hope it gets better as the day goes on. Me too on the Mannie pic! King of the sunbeams... :) THX too on today, and the upcoming week. Should be a good one!
