Hi everybody- Happy Caturday! I haven't posted for a couple of weeks but Tori has been doing quite well. Most days she has a yellow preshot and then goes blue or even sometimes green. We haven't seen very much pink so I'm happy. She bounces sometimes still but generally speaking it's not too high and doesn't last for that long. Especially compared to what she used to.

WCR- All the P's are accounted for. Some days she seems like her arthritis is bothering her quite a bit. It takes her quite awhile to get up and down the stairs to her box. Other days she seems fine. I hope to get her in for her checkup soon and will discuss that with her vet. I'm really leery of anti-inflammatories. You may recall that Metacam caused her to have a bout of gastritis that almost killed her. I hate to see her uncomfortable though.

So that's it for us. I spent the day at a symposium on dementia so my mind is sort of reeling. i had a long nap when I got home as I have to work tonight. My son Daniel who is a very important member of Team Tori has been having a rough time health wise. If you're interested I'm going to be posting an update on him on Community.

Will try and catch up with what's happening with everybody. Take care and give all your fur babies a kiss for me.

Good to hear from you Barb.

Is Cosequin available in your area? It's a glucosamine chondroiten combination that's available over the counter for cats. I used it with one of my civies and it seemed to help his arthritis.

good to see you. i am sorry your son is having a rough time.

yes her numbers DO look so much better. really when you only see them every once in a while you can see the changes easy. she has gone from an extremist to a easy going gal. and as always what is most important, she is healthy. cause we know the other side of that with her back how it was and are so glad those days are over. you're going a great job with her, she is a tough cat and could have been easily lost had you not stepped up to plate and learned to take such good care of her. when you look at her washing her face in the sun you can be proud knowing that.

it is time to treat her arthritis. she might already be past the cosequin stage and need more aggressive tx. no, no, not metacam! :-x i am talking about taking it a step up to dasuquin, talk to your vet about it. http://www.nutramaxlabs.com/Vet/Product ... -cats.aspx maybe even adequan injections if she is really bad. wouldn't be a bad idea to do x-rays and see where this stands. it takes a while for these products to produce results you can notice, but they are wonderful tings (and safe) for this condition in a feline. when you have time, something to look into, k?

also, fish oil. omega-3 is anti-inflammatory. if she's not getting any, try adding some to her diet.

meowzi has really bad arthritis - she gets dasuquin (is said to address the pain better than cosequin, both are from the same maker), fish oil, adequan shots, and acupuncture.

it's good to see you, Barb, and great to see Tori in such nice numbers.

I'm sorry your son is having a hard time. Stay strong, like you always do. ((((Barb))))
