Tess decided she wanted to play about midnight last night! The trackball and the feather got quite a workout. Very cuddly in bed and patient as usual about getting woken up for tests. Breffus is gone and Tess has made up for yesterday's deficiency in the LB. She's waiting to go BTB and so am I.

Re: 3/20 Tess AMPS~124

Tess looks like she's going for a second cycle of solid blue. The first few cycles looked so good at this dose. Is this the result of the .25u shed finally emptying? I'm going to wait for +7 as her morning snack was a little late, so +6 might have been food influenced. I know, the numbers aren't that high, but they are blue. After other decreases she has taken a while to settle in so, maybe it is just that.

Tess is extremely playful again this AM. She snarfed all her food so far, Merrick Surf & Turf is a big fave. Of course it is fish! The bowl is clean, clean, clean. She actually tried to get into my cereal bowl this AM. She hasn't done that or even shown any interest in it since she started wet food.

Any advice on brushing teeth? Tess is not happy with me right now. I can't get her mouth open enough to get at more than just the fangs. She has problems w/ tartar buildup. I regularly use Maxiguard Oral Cleansing Gel, but I want to try brushing as well a couple times a week. I have one of those fingertip brushes, but it seem too big for her little mouth. I'm going to post this part in Health too.

Re: 3/20 Tess AMPS~124

I did a search in health and came up with a link to a good tooth brushing video
http://partnersah.vet.cornell.edu/Brushing-Your-Cats-Teeth/Entire-Video

It describes a good 4 weeks process to get your cat used to brushing. I definately have the wrong type brush (supplied by the ex-vet  ) Tess had a dental i Jan., I just don't want her teeth to get bad again.

Still don't know if anyone else has tried the Maxiguard Gel. Ingredients: Deionized water, Zinc Gluconate, Ascorbic Acid, Methylcellulose, Taurine, Methylparaben, Proplyparaben, FD&C Blue No. 1

Re: 3/20 Tess AMPS~124

I've never tried brushing teeth, though my vet did send Mickey home with some toothpaste stuff because he tends to have a lot of plaque. I should try, but I'm chicken.

Glad to see Tess in green today!

(((Ann & Tess))) Hi! Droppin thru to check on you two ;-)
Tess is looking no less than the very best :thumbup
I brush Sadi (Baby's sister's teeth) it goes relatively smooth - we use toothpaste/brush from Petsmart -- it is a Malt flavored one & she loves it - I let her lick a little before I begin brushing & she just plops down on the floor for me - I suspect she will need a dental one day - in fact she already does -- she has been on canned always. Baby has very pretty teeth - but now that she is on Raw & canned - that may change. I am going to take a look at the video link you posted.
Happy Caturday to you both!

At +11;45 she was just 78 down from the +11. so I retested in 15 and she was up to 99 so when we shot it was only about 7 minutes late. We have been allowing her to slide back a little anyway so this can e a half step. going for not quite so early a wakeup call I feel safe about hypos on such a low dose and there is a break in my Saturday class until mid April. So a delay won't cause a problem is we have to stall.

Tess has been a yo-yo kitty the last couple of cycles. At least we are seeing a little green now. Maybe because of the timing change. We should have just not worried about the DST change last week and we would have been an hour ahead. ohmygod_smile

I was wondering why Tess seemed really hungry last night after eating her normal amount. then I looked and found that most of the Merrick foods are only about 160 calories. A can of wellness or 2 cans of FF are closer to 180 to 220. No wonder she wanted more. Oh well, I figure her treats add up to 10 to 20 calories a day too. I think she should be getting minimum of 143 calories to about 199, for her weight of 9.5 lbs.

I'm starting to wtite the carbs and now the calories on the cans when I bring them home. OCD anyone?
