I feel like I have cleaned all the things this afternoon.
Yesterday's condo
So, not a lot going on today. Cain's back at the vet getting more IV fluids with potassium and B complex. He got another B12 shot (which can be done only every three days), ampicillin and the usual cerenia and famotidine.
He started his lactulose yesterday and...well let's just say I had to wash a lot of towels. Repeatedly. A lot. He pooped a lot with that lactulose, but it's a laxative so not surprising. I woke up this morning and had some of the floor to clean before I took him to the vet. Today I have pee pads now so hopefully less of the house towels will be involved.
I took the labs over to the second vet and asked a question. She called back saying the only way I can know for certain if it's not hepatic lipidosis and instead a blocked bile duct is to have an ultrasound. Which was the option when Cain got his feeding tube in. The surgery and the ultrasound are the same exact price. The feeding tube was needed more so we went with that, as y'all know. Luckily I got the blood tests done at my vet so the surgery was lower but there's no lowering the cost of the ultrasound. At least that's what I remember of the conversation. I had nothing to take notes with cause I left my notebook by accident at the vet's office. She also recommends a blood transfusion. (Not cheap of course. ) Which I'm asking my vet now if he can do that or if I have to have her do it. And we need a PCR test done on the blood. Though my biggest question is would I have to do more than one transfusion? Definitely going to be asking that.
I think I might be arranging to take Cain over to the second vet tomorrow morning for some questions to be answered. And I want her to check if the feeding tube is doing well. I don't know. I'll update here and in the pancreatits group.
I think I have enough time to update the other group and then I need to go pick up Cain.
