Alert and ready to be awake this a.m., unlike yesterday. Caught eating kibble 30 minutes before alarm/shot. Appetite stimulant last night did nothing other than get her to eat approx 3/4 can of fancy feast. That's more than she would have eaten on her own, I guess. But still shows me that her tummy just 'aint feeling right if the stimulant is not making her more ravenous for longer periods of time.
Tried putting saucers on top of her water bowls (cottage cheese containers  ). She was confused and not too happy at first. Eventually she was thirsty enough to figure it out and go with the plan. It's still in its trial phases, but I found her spending less time drinking. She was still at her bowls as often, if not more...but not drinking AS much each time. No major choking episodes. I probably wont keep it like that all the time. Maybe just in the a.m., when she typically drinks a lot and avoids food, as well as in the p.m. when I notice her getting wierd like the last few nights. One of these days she is sure to say "screw this!" and knock them off. I will also have to watch her hydration when I do this and supplement with a little more fluids, if need be.
Cheryl/Winnie suggested a p-flare. Ive been wondering that myself the last few days. Though in the past, I think she has always vomited when its been suspected. *Knock on wood* and *antijinx*, the only suggestion that it might be a flare is her lack of appetite and probably nausea despite meds. I'm also really wondering if her pH is still off (metabolic acidosis) and if it has gotten worse, since we are not treating it. How much that would affect her appetite, energy, and possibly BG's could be significant. A few more weeks and we will try to get some labs. Gosh...could you imagine how rich I would have to be if I did lab work EVERYTIME she was not acting on top of her game?!
WBR-feeling better (physically). New job is tentatively starting with a bit of training tonight. Unfortunately things changed from the initial offer...like pay, route of payment, hours, etc. It is not looking as appealing. It was a job change that was suppose to be stable and much greater income. Now Im uncertain of its stability, and it would be a pay CUT. @-) If we cant negotiate a more reasonable pay, I may have to turn it down at the last minute. That would STINK!
BTW- took a drive last night to get out of the house and the full moon was super low, sparkling over one of the lakes near my house. stunning!
