Well, she needed her anal glands expressed. She had a 103 fever, and she's on 100cc of sub-Q fluids once a day, she got some of that while at the vet and to show me how to give them to her at home. She's also getting .7 cc's(I think that's what it is?) of Christmas's irritable bowel medicine, which I think is called flaxl. I probably misspelled it...I'm to continue her anti-nausea medicine and her tramadol. I was also given the orders to rest as I definitely have not been getting enough sleep...but that's 2 vets so far that've 'perscribed' me sleep. :lol: I'm going to have to agree with them and hopefully get to bed early tonight.

I have a feeling that the sub-Q is what helped bring her blood sugar down so quickly, but I gave her some low-carb and will be testing her again shortly. If she keeps this up, I may need to break out the MC of HC.

Poor girl... so glad her anal glands didn't rupture.
Maybe she'll give you permission to get some rest and be a cuddly girl.

I think the medication is Flagyl (metronidazole). If that's the drug, it's an antibiotic that's used to fight off anerobic bacteria that can cause diarrhea. I'm glad you figured out what the problem is and I hope Tip starts to feel better.

Yes! That's it, Flagyl. I'm glad we got her in today. Hopefully she feels better soon. And lets me get some sleep.

Oh I'm so so glad you got her in today. Watch her on the flagyl....it made Gracie toss up her little toenails she vomited so hard from it. But ECID.

Good catch on the anal glands. Sending her healing vines and you sleeping vines, Cindy. You are a great mom!

I try to be, thanks for the healing and sleeping vines. Goodness knows I need sleep.
 
Christmas does great on it. So we'll see with Tip. Given she's still acting fairly sick, should I increase tomorrow morning or stall?
 
Hi Cindy -- glad to hear the vetty visit went well and it was just full glands. When you said blisters, I was really worried that they had abscessed or something. I hope Tip starts feeling better soon!
 
Yeah, I didn't know how else to explain them though...

Alright, I'll give her another cycle then. Thanks. :)

And now I'll follow the vet's orders for me and get some sleep. Let's hope Tip is feeling better tomorrow.
