Re: 3/18 Moses AMPS 366 +3~196

that is a funny comment indeed!

Erica... am let me appologize if i'm going to sound brutal....
You can't let your cat drop nearly 200 points in 4 hours and not follow up! I know cats have a liver but... that's a little rough on the system.
Despite your notes of furshots, which may still be fur shots, there is a potential for Moses's yoyo being bouncing from lower numbers.

Any chance you can grab a few numbers to help explain the SS?

Re: 3/18 Moses AMPS 398

I just read your reply, Helen and Tizon. It's been a rough day grumpy_cat

I had to leave for work right after that, so I could not get any other tests. And Moses got ANOTHER fur shot tonight.

I'm so confused and mad and upset right now. I don't know if it's the bouncing. I don't know if it's the furshots. I know I'm struggling giving him his injections because of my nerves.

I'm so incredibly discouraged.

----

I feel like I don't know what to do.

Re: 3/18 Moses AMPS 366 +3~196

I never felt so happy to have appologized in advance.

Life gets in the way sometimes.... and we all have to have a life and go to work... it's ok.
Fur shots do happen. Don't put too much stress on yourself. Do what you can.

I didn't mean to upset you. I'm just trying to figure out what's going on with Moses.

Take it one day at the time...

Re: 3/18 Moses AMPS 366 +3~196

are you sure it was a furshot?

What needles are you using? This sounds funny, but I liked the 29 gauge needles better than the 31 gauge because I could feel them go through the skin, so I was confident it was in the right place. With the really fine needles I was never sure. Lucy didn't seem to care about the slightly larger needle. I always shot her while her head was buried in the food dish, so she didn't care about anything.

Don't worry, Helene & Tizon. I wasn't upset about what you said. It was the culmination of the furshots, nerves, liver, numbers, all of it. I'm glad you're honest on the board and looking out for my sugar kitty. I know you were only trying to help. :YMHUG:

Laura & Libby - I got at least .5u in. It looks like it after his 168 point drop. (Woah!). I use a 31 gauge needle, which I like. That's a really good idea though! To feel it enter the skin. The thing with Moses is, I can't distract him with food b/c he gets eating anxiety afterwards. I literally have to do it point blank, and he cries. It's rough. Most times I'll shake the treat bag so he'll look forward (b/c he sits in my lap). Or I'll sing. (Roni & Moonie made that suggestion). Sometimes he'll try to roll around and watch me, but I continue to try to refocus him forward. He'll see the syringe and get scared. Usually when it's quick and fast, it's the best. But lately it's been too quick and fast, before the insulin can shoot.

So frusterating!

WCR is really good though. My brother and my dad can't stop talking about how healthy Moses is and how perky his new attitude is. I cried about it over dinner and that felt better, too. (I'm a crier and getting that emotion out really helps me let go).

I'm hoping we have better days forward.

I'm not sure these are furshots. You are getting substantial drops after you shoot.

Do you think they are furshots because you notice a damp spot? If so, there may be a big fat drop of insulin on the syringe and that's what you feel and/or smell.
