Lola and Bug! Vetty Day!

I hope everyone has had a great week. We have been.... well, busy again! :woot: I just can't imagine not being on the go. :) It keeps us out of trouble, and makes for great times. ! I often think back on the weeks happenings, and wonder how in the world did we do all that! :woot: o_O:joyful: It was the same this past week. We just seem to pick up and go each day, no questions asked, since we all know FUN AWAITS! I am FINALLY over my cold! It was two weeks running with that thing, and at last it is gone! Oh Happy Days! :joyful::joyful::joyful::joyful::joyful::joyful::joyful::joyful::joyful: Both Boys seem to be finally over it too. More Happy Days!:smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot: As always I am grateful for all those that help us on a daily basis, friends, people that know us at the places we go, and though I write this each week, still my local barista! It cracks me up when I walk in that door and my order is already in the works. :coffee: Life is very good!

it has been a good week in the pool. It has just become the norm for us, we go each week, and just never tire of it. It proves to be such fun for both boys, and their excitement with it all has not wavered. :):joyful::cool: Nicholas knows which days he swims, William has figured that out too. Nicholas continues to observe swim class, loves what he sees, but still wavers when it comes to actually taking a class. New enrollment is in two weeks, so we shall see how this goes.... new things can often be intimidating for him, even though he really knows he can do what he sees the kids doing. Heck, he can already swim a length of teh pool, on his front and back. He continues to love diving and swimming underwater. Rings retrieval from the bottom of the pool still is on the top ten list. William is getting better with his underwater stuff, can stay down a bit longer now. He still loves his time there, and really wants to spent more in the big pool. The last time we swim he was repeatedly asking to swim in the big pool. This has not changed. YAY! :) I am thinking of extending the time we are there into the next big pool open time so he can do that. He will be so much like Nicholas when it comes to pool stuff. He just loves it all as much as his brother. Nicholas is now asking too if William can swim with him. Soon, I think. Our swim days were Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Night this week. That's alot of pool time!
GO NICHOLAS! GO WILLIAM!

Nicholas: FUN times in the pool!

William, taking on the slides!

The Friday Night Burger Feast for Nicholas, after his swim session at the Snohomish pool, will be always on the highlight list. He looks forward to this every week, starts asking about it on Wednesday when he first sees me. He just LOVES those cheeseburgers with extra pickles! :woot: It is such a positive and fun thing for both of us. I wouldn't stop this tradition for anything, or until he decides it is time.

The boys and I continue to be very busy. :joyful: We have had a very good weather week too, sunny skies for most of the days, warm temps, with us hitting the 68/71 mark. Spring is for sure coming. :woot: We have come up with a great list of indoor places, and this week we used them when we needed too, when the weather was questionable, which was actually fairly decent with Wednesday afternoon being our only questionable day. ;) :joyful::woot: We made that afternoon a science day at the Pacific Science Center, per Nicholas's request. Both boys love it there, and never tire of the place. Thursday afternoon was spent a Bothell Landing Park, Friday on the Skykomish River, at the Big Eddy near Gold Bar. It was awesome to be back on the rivers, with Bothell being an urban river experience, and the Skykomish more of a being out in the wild experience. We spent all day Friday on the river, hiking the trails there, walking the sand at rivers edge, climbing rock piles, and playing in the water. Both boys were up to their knees in it, having such a great time. They were soaked, sandy, dirty, and ever so content at days end. We wrapped up Friday with a stop at Starbucks, for a frappucino for Nicholas, decaf of course... William was so tried that he slept through the whole treat thing. next time little man! It was indeed an awesome week.

Nicholas and William, at home on the river...

Wednesday was sleepover night. Erin and Jason had a company thing to attend, so the boys spent the night with me. :woot::woot::woot::woot::smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin::joyful::joyful::joyful::eek::confused::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool: Nicholas was so excited he could hardly stand it. That enthusiasm feed over to William. What chaos, but such a fun chaos. We had burger and fries for dinner, per the boys request, and made brownies for dessert. Nicholas remembered bath time from his last sleepover, and once again wanted to take his bath in my kitchen sink.:woot::woot::rolleyes::):) It was such a fun night for all of us. They went to bed on time - :joyful: - slept without incident, and woke up ready to go the next morning, with an sort of appropriate dessert for breakfast.:) Nicholas asked when he could sleep over again. LOL, and I am sure that will be soon.

William and Nicholas, master Chefs Junior!

For my own personal time, I continue to hike the local trails here when I can. I still haven't made that mountain hike, but all in good time on that one. ;)
I have read that the North Cascades Highway will reopen soon, so back to the moutnians for me as soon as I can get there. :woot::woot::woot: There have been appointments on my days off, and the weather took care of the others, and this darn cold on what days were left. So this past week I've spent doing alot of the local stuff, mainly Meadowdale, Sunday and Tuesday. Spring sure is trying to take hold here.... See??? Flowers!!!

Normalcy in MusketeerVille :cat::cat::cat::cat: How cool to be able to say that. :joyful::joyful::joyful::joyful: The kitties are doing well. Tuesday was VETTY DAY for Lola and Bug, for their annual checkup and shots, if needed. They both passed, with a clean bill of health, and got their shots. Bug may need a dental soon, a little frustrating in that we just did that a few months back. I suspect he will be "one of those kitties". We also had his anal glands expressed, as they were a bit full. We just did that a few months ago too. AH Bug... I secretly think you like gong to the vetty? No you say? ;) Lola was of course Lola at the vet, all over the place, checking out everything she could. The vets office there has canned cheese... for cats that are, well, feisty. :woot: Can we say Lola? She was so happy when she saw that can come out, apparently she remembered. :cat: What was so funny was that while she was busy devouring this cheese the vet gave her her shots, and she never knew she had gotten them. WOOT WOOT! We pulled one over on Lola. :p:smuggrin: it was a good visit for both of them, no issues found. :cat::cat: Elsa is dong well. She is eating better since I have been trying to get more food in here get some weight back on her, it is a slow process, but seems to be working, I think too that she really likes the individual attention. She is glad that we are warming some, do get a few weather breaks, so she can spend some time 0utdoors. At least she no longer wanders in her old age, we can always see her, so I don't worry too much. Well, just a little. ;) I wrote this last week too, but it is just the way things are here: Elsa grounds it in reality. Bug adds that element of comfort and reassurance. :joyful: For this week: a for sure on that normalcy in MusketeerVille. :cat::cat::cat:

This photo posted on my FB page about a week or so ago. Out of the blue. It so looked like Mannie, right down to "that tail" that it took my breath away. It reminded me of him too, in his younger days, of the things he used to so. I think that Mannie paid me a visit the day this posted. I had been thinking about him the days before, as I had just installed a new floor to ceiling shelf unit in the kitchen, and when removed what was there out fell three lancet covers... another gentle reminder and a friendly hello for the Big Guy. Miss you Mannie! :cat:
super cat.jpg

Have a great Caturday everyone! Today has been catchup day here. Shopping and laundry done, and just being a little lazy. I hope to get out for a walk after I post this, for some fresh air, and to exercise the legs some. It is wet one heer today, so I hope for a break soon. Sure would be nice if the winds would die down some too.

KITTIES!! Remember: BLUE, think GREEN :cat:

Awwwwww on the little hello from Mannie :joyful::joyful::joyful:

Love the vetty pic - canned cheese hey. How peculiar, I don't think we have that here.

Hi Serryn :coffee::) I love those little hellos from the Big Guy. He sends them from time to time. That canned cheese is the oddest stuff, completely pasteurized and soft. One pushes on the nozzle and outcomes the cheese... Lola LOVES it! silly cat. To me it is the grossest stuff ever!

Hi Michelle- Boy, I thought at first glance that Lola and Bug were making the 10 Hour Energy Espresso!:smuggrin: Glad to hear they had good vetty visits- owie on the anal glands though! I can just picture Lola at the office- Love all your pictures as always! Oh those pictures from Skykomish make my fingers itch to pack our bags and get over there!! Love the look of joy on Nicholas and William's faces too! So whose boot is William holding anyway LOL! I am with Elsa, more of the nicer weather so we can all be outside! :joyful:

Wasn't William just a baby a short while ago? ;)Wow, has he ever grown up fast. Fun times indeed with those too. Love the idea of them cooking with you.

Love the kitty update - good news on the vetty. Lola looks so casual there. And Bug just mellow on the scale.

Super Cat Rocks! :cool::cool:

@fun2doimpossible Hi Will! :coffee::coffee::coffee: SO great to hear from you. I hope all is well with Clyde :cat: Vetty day was fun.:rolleyes::cool: They did survive and made their vet proud. I think they are kinda cute too. :)

@Tiger and Ruth Morning Ruth :coffee::coffee::coffee: LOL on Lola and bug. Ya never know, maybe they were! Bug did not like his anal glands being messed with, but out up with the vet's efforts. Lola ran the show, just like she always does. What a cat! The day on the Skykomish was just awesome. This location is a good one for the boys: easy access to the river, most of it is very safe doe them, and they can get as dirty and sandy and wet as they want. They love it there. There are even some very short trails for them. SO glad I stumbled onto the "Big Eddy" a few years back. in a few weeks when it warms a little more we will head on up to Jack's Pass, off of Beckler Road. That is one of my fave spots, and to this day Nicholas still remembers his trips there. Time now to introduce William to it. The boots were Nicholas's. Once he "flooded" them he took them off, and they used them as buckets. :woot::smuggrin: YUPP! Agreed on that nicer weather, been a rather wet weekend hasn't it?

@Wendy&Neko Morning Wendy :coffee::coffee::coffee: LOL, I know on William... so it seems! He's 1 and a half now,and quite capable, to a point, of keeping up with his brother. He sure does try! The cooking was fun. Nicholas did most of the work, William helped, and they had such a good time. They both help mom at home, which I think is way cool. I was grateful for a good vetty visit. Bug was uneasy, but mellow too. His way of dealing: sits where you put him and waits til you tell him he gets to go home. Lola however... zip zip zip, and into everything.:rolleyes: She has no fear, and once the vet brought out that canned cheese she was thinking "this place is cool"! ;) THX on super cat. I love that photo: so looks like Mannie in so many ways. :)

I'm glad things went well at the vet. I love the picture. I can just see Lola taking over. :) How cool on the sign from Mannie. I'm glad everyone is over their colds. It looks like the boys had a blast getting to be outside so much this week. How funny on the boots.

Hi Michelle,
That supercat pic sure does look like Mannie! He was, after all, SuperCat! Sounds like a great week. I'm glad you're over your cold. My mother always used to say that the duration of a cold was "two weeks or a fortnight". I used to puzzle over that one when I was a kid! (I hope mine will be gone before 2 weeks, but they never are).
Glad to hear that Bug and Lola got through their vetty appt. Are you supposed to brush Bug's teeth to stave off dental issues?
I sure hope that Nicholas will overcome his fear of the swim class and that he will be enrolled in it. Does he have any friends at the pool who will also be ready for the class? That might be a motivating factor.
I hope you'll get out on a hike soon. I know you must be chomping at the bit.

Have a great week!

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty
p.s. to Elsa: the coffee you brought to NYC was the best ever! I couldn't have driven home on Thursday without it.

Once again I'm outta breath reading your condo!!! Love the "Mannie" picture....what a sweet way for him to touch base with MamaBean! The vetty picture....poor Bug looks so unhappy, while the wild-n-crazy girl could care less! They're both so cute. And I just love how active and engaging the boys are....so wonderful. Have a great week, Michelle!

@carfurby Hi Carla :coffee::coffee::coffee: Me to on the vet. No issues is always a good thing! Oh yes on Lola, she did. Vet knows how to deal with her though, bring o9ut that cheese and she is putty in your hands. :) THX troo on Mannie, I loved it. We too are glad all are healthy and we can spend all the time outside, back t the rivers! :woot::woot::woot: Happy little boys then - we had such a good time. I know on those boots... he's done it before so I wasn't too surprised when he used them again as buckets. Just too funny that his brother followed suit.

@Ella & Rusty & Stu(GA) Hi Ella :coffee::coffee::coffee: I thought so too on that Super Cat photo, it so said Mannie to me, so I just had to share it. :cat: Interesting on your mom and the cold: fortnight or two weeks. I much [prefer the fortnight! not this time however... I hope yours disappears long before that two week tie frame. I think I probably should brush Bug's teeth, but am really wondering if he will let me. I guess I will have to gradually introduce the concept, seen a vid on how to do it, and see if he will accept brushing. Sure would help I think. Me too on Nicholas and swim class. He really doesn't have any personal friends that are enrolled. His cousin takes (or did?) classes there but she is 2 years older. I should see which class she is in, good idea! YES (!!!) on the hikes! Today would have been a good day to go, as I have little pending, but the whole state is one wet mess! :arghh: so, we wait again... maybe this Tuesday! :)

@Amy&TrixieCat THX on the "Mannie" picture. It so looks like him. it was the tail that got me! so so Mannie! You are right on target on the vetty pic. Lola could have cared less, and Bug.... well he was scared, so he sat in that one spot, didn't move, just waited til he got the green light for "back in your carrier". Poor kitty, he does not like to travel, and the vet? Forget it! ;) THX on the boys - I love that part about them too: always ready to pack up and go, off on another adventure.
