Good evening ladies and gents, here are Jake's numbers for today. Will get on more test before bedtime.

I've been really thinking about upping his dose, I asked his vet but she has yet to respond to me. His numbers are pretty high, and I haven't really gotten the hang of noticing any type of pattern in his BG yet and think he might need just a wee bit more. What do you guys think?

I see that he is dropping this evening, can you get some spot checks before bed to see if he's heading toward blue?

How is Jake feeling today? Is his stool better?

Will get a couple more times before bed. He's feeling really good actually, appetite is good... energy is good... MEOW is really good! LOL! His energy is always really good when he's in the mid 200's. He did this last week, I even got a couple of blue numbers, then after that some red ones. So not sure what's goin' on... he swallowed some foam blocks then puked them up, so his tummy ache probably raised his sugars up a little, my mom said whenever she doesn't feel good her sugar just goes through the roof. His poop this morning had some blood on it, but it wasn't so hard anymore so perhaps after it's not so hard he wont strain. Will be sure to update the thread before I crash tonight.

Nice sunny yellow Jake!
Such an interesting looking kitty - beautiful! cat_pet_icon

you're doing well Breayle, very good WCR (whole cat report) pc_work

At the beginning of this process of getting Jake regulated, you will no doubt find that when he gives you a lower number, he will then bounce up to higher numbers. This is a normal part of the process. The liver will dump glucose into the blood stream because it's not used to there being lower (i.e., normal) blood sugar levels. We refer to this process as "liver training school" (LTS).

Thank you very much! Mr. Jake is 1/4 tabby point siamese and the rest is probably some ally cat! He's also an albino! So, he's my goofy little cross eyed man!

Thanks for letting me know, all the information given to me on this site and from it's users is both wonderful and overwhelming, it's hard to sort it all out in the beginning! Jake's updated numbers :D
