Sammy was a real stinker last night, he would not eat anything I put in front of him. I have been feeding him the same two types of food since we switched to the MiniMeals and there have only been a few times where he turned his nose up at the food, and that was probably mostly due to the food being old, having been left in the refrigerator a bit too long. Last night I opened 8 cans of food before I finally found one that he would eat. It was a good thing I had a variety of LC food on hand, and I even resorted to an 8% food which I really hated doing, but I only gave him about a teaspoon of that.

He finally decided that the only thing he would eat was the 9Lives Flaked Tuna and Cheese (3%), but I didn't give him the cheese bits. I thought that once he got eating he would easily return to the other food again, which is what he has done before, but that was not the cast last night. At each snack time he would only eat the 9Lives. I tried mixing in the other food and he did eventually eat that also, but it was a struggle.

When I did his +4.5 I did give him famotidine and thought that by +9 snack time he would be better, but he still really only wanted the 9Lives. I still gave him some Wellness Turkey along with it and he did eat it. I also gave him a slightly larger snack at +9 because he has consistently woken me up before AMPS every morning.

This morning I got to sleep right up to the AMPS alarm. This morning his appetite seems to have returned to normal, but he is still on the 9Lives kick. I gave him 1 teaspoon of the 9Lives and 1 teaspoon of Wellness Turkey and he gobbled it right down before I even had a chance to fill the syringe, so I have him another teaspoon of each before giving the shot.

He is now cuddling with me while I try to type this post over top of him. I really don't know what was up with him yesterday, maybe those higher numbers were making him feel really crummy.

We will see what today brings. As I suspected He did a nice slow drop last night, and seemed to stay steady from +9 right through AMPS. I don't know if he went a bit lower or higher last night because I didn't get up to check after +9, and it was nice not to have to get up multiple times during the night. I felt he was safe from +4.5 to +9 so I gave myself a pass to sleep through. If history repeats itself we could be in for a wild ride at some point in the next couple of cycles.

Hope everyone has a fantastic day.

I hope he decides to go back to his regular food for you. He likes to keep you on your toes. Glad you had a variety of food.

Hope you enjoy good numbers today. :)

Beautiful green this morning. Sorry about the food issues. Those are really no fun. Maybe he just had an off day. We have never dealt with that since Tarragon likes the same old thing every day. Have a great day Tina!

Vyktor has suddenly turned into a picky eater, it's driving me bananas! Luckily Purrdy in hales anything that's put in front of him, I don't even have to hide his pumpkin in his food, he just gobbles it right up!

Yay for a relatively good night's sleep - you've got to take it while you can ;)

He did eat some of the Wellness Turkey as soon as we got to the office this morning, but I also brought the 9Lives Flaked Tuna with us just in case.

Yeah, that is what my DH said, just an off day, it still freaks me out when he isn't the same old cat every day. I always wonder what will happen next.

My other cat, Crystal, can be pretty picky also, but I have been giving her some of the higher carb food that I have on hand for Sammy's lows. She seems to like them. The only problem is that I have to monitor her when she eats because I don't want Sammy to get that food. The good thing is Crystal is a quick eater and when Sammy and I leave for work I just leave her bowl on the floor and by the time we get home she has scarfed it all down.

It doesn't look like this is going to be the active cycle, so far it has been pretty flat, so maybe tonight we will see more action.

So far today has not been what I expected. Sammy is still in normal range which is always good. I might have to threaten a drop increase again and see how that goes over. LOL! I am going to do fluids tonight to try to get back on an every other day schedule. I had backed off a bit for fear that the fluids would send him too low when I didn't want him to go low. We will see how it goes tonight. We will be heading home from the office for PMPS very soon.

Picky eaters. Yes. Even here this morning with my disposal unit cats. Moon cycle?

Hope Sammy's next-kind-please appetite returns to normal.
