You mentioned in your previous thread that you have more fur babies. Cats? Dogs?
As Sandy starts feeling perkier and more active if you feed kibble or HC food to the other furbabies, it can get really tricky. I speak from experience, we had an outdoor semi feral that had kibble, she would come and go as she pleased, it wasn't feasible to have wet food out for her. her bowl was up high so my dogs wouldn't get it. We were on vacation and my petsitter didn't think that 20yr old arthritic George could access the kibble, she let him out in the courtyard, didn't have eyes on him all the while, and he got into the kibble.
that was on 5/30/2018 just one raid sent him out of his normal range for about 2 days.
We had another contraband incident on
4/13/2019 he got into some kibble in a bag in the hallway, we were back from vacation and at the cattery they will only feed dry so my other kitties had been on dry food, we accidentally left a bag with their kibble in the hallway. He found it, chewed through the bag, and again about 24 hours of higher than normal BG for him.
They are really sneaky and that kibble smells so good to them that they sure will sniff it out, even just a few pieces can make a big difference, so you want to be sure it doesn't happen too often, if at all.
