Most cats hate that gel they gave you. That is why I recommended the powder. It’s palatable. I’ve rarely had a cat refuse to eat it mixed into their food. It’s a small scoop of powder. But I hope he won’t balk at the gel.

Do you have his labs from today’s visit? Phosphorous?
 
Agreed on the B-12. I inject my cats using u-100 insulin syringes. It doesn’t burn. You can get a bottle of B-12 (cyanocobalamin) from your vet and it’s not expensive. B-complex is given by mouth.

The fluid recommendations can vary a lot from vet to vet. Some say 100 mL is max. Some say more. You can see the different recommendations on felinecrf. It shows you how much difference there can be in the recommended amount of sub-q fluids.

sorry took me a sec to get back!! we rushed home.. we were there like 3 hrs.. 😕 helped him potty and then he got his dinner and his shot.. then i tried eating.. nearly falling asleep 😅🥲 he did really good.. i wish i couldve started the potassium already..

i have seen that.. also got told some ppl got recommended way more than the safe limit.. im really hoping that 120 mL we did didnt overload him……. 😟😢🥺😟😢🥺..cause hes coughing a bit when trying to eat.. and a little sporadic cough here and there.. sigh.

I figured this.. 💘 i knew the powder you recommended was better.. but honestly wouldve tried that one cuz i wanted to start him on something asap.. but it expired. glad to get the powder really.. but trying ti get it here too asap. :/ will get back more!! 🫶🏼

I understand. Every little cough sends you spinning into worry for what could be causing it. Maybe you should stick with 100 mL for a while and see if it makes a difference. Make sure you feel like all the fluids are absorbed before giving more.

I know Pudge will be happy to stay home today!

💘💘💘💘💘💘💘..... its hard cause you get those things done and then little coughs here and there.. haha.. like.. 😭.. I've been doing 75 mL.. ty to do 100? :) doc said 75-100 no big deal..

I think so too! we both are.. 💞🥰 ugh.. just wish could start the potassium already... :/
