Happy Friday LL!

WCR: Happy, purry, lovey. 5 P's are good. While she is not so playful when she's impatient, I can still see the prance in her step, especially when she chases after her freeze dried salmon treats. She was quite impatient with me for brunch. We are messing with her schedule a lot. No fuds after +9 will take some getting used to. And I don't usually get out of bed until AMPS, but since I'm trying to get those +11's, I get up and test her and then she stares at me, expectantly, for an hour. She was hungry! I did leave a spoon of frozen food out last night and it was gone this morning! She still woke up DH for breakfast, but maybe she'll have to get used to it.

This morning, I gave DH his first shooting lesson. We got an orange, a fuzzy sock (to simulate her fur/skin) and an old needle. He did ok, but wasn't ready to put it into practice just yet.

I guess this isn't too bad for a bounce. I hate to say it, but I'm actually kind of relieved she didn't throw me a green AMPS. I'm running dangerously low on strips. I hope they will be delivered tomorrow, otherwise I'll have to make a run to a local store and pay way too much (yuck) :-Q If she had been low today, a trip to the local pharmacy would have been guaranteed.

Tell your husband that when I first had to give shots, I nearly passed out. I still let my husband or my son (24) do the shots when possible. I think at the low doses, it works for us to have one person doing all the measuring. And hey, that works for me, too--as long as I'm not the person!

You may want to PM Michele/Esse. I think she talked about how in nursing school, they would practice giving injections using vodka and an orange. They'd freeze the oranges after practicing and have an adult dessert! Of course, using an orange is more like giving an IM injection vs. a sub-q but I kinda like the idea!

Sooo... you liked the idea of the practicing on an orange or the vodka saturated orange? Hahaha!!

Sara, I'm glad Magnolia cooperated with you and didn't need extra testing today. See these kitties really are telepathic!

DH does so much already, I really can't complain, but I would love, love, love to sleep in, even if it's just one day.

I love the idea of the vodka orange surprise! We actually used the orange in two ways. First, to represent the kitty bones and muscles (things to avoid) and the fuzzy sock was used to represent her skin/fur. I showed him how to pull up the sock (skin) and make the little tent area and then inject into it without hitting the orange, or himself. On day 2 of Magnolia's injections, the syringe went right through her skin, into my finger, and before my pain receptors kicked in, I pushed the plunger. We also used the orange to give him an idea of what sticking the needle through skin feels like, but it really isn't the same!

I was at TBP all day, I wouldn't have been able to get any spot checks, but it looks like she had a flat yellow cycle until this last check. So far, Cassandra's prediction has been spot on, flat yellow usually precedes nice blues. We'll see how tomorrow goes! We only have 4 strips left. If they don't come with tomorrow's mail, I'll have to go pay double at the pharmacy. :-x
