I added fat to his dose last night. Maybe that's responsible for lower amps? He's staying flat so far. We all went BTB after Angels' 6:30 am shot. He's been outside, had a snack and is sleeping on the dining room table right now. Yes, that's allowed in this animal-centric house.
I was really perturbed this am when I got all ready to test and my accucheck aviva had a dead battery. Don't they give you any warning? Maybe they did and I didn't notice. Anyway, luckily I still had a Freestyle Lite and some strips for it. Hoping the lower amps wasn't result of just different meters variation. I will get a new battery today but will continue to monitor this cycle with the Freestyle so as not to mix apples and oranges. * BTW, I like the Accucheck MUCH better and remember now why I ditched the Freestyle in the first place : more expensive strips, larger blood requirement, shorter "get ready" time and the annoying blood collection spot on the side of the strip instead of the end.
I keep wondering about my insulin since it came from Canada back in Sept. Even though I've started new carts very frequently lately it's all still from the same shipment. I worry that if I keep working his dose up and then start on a brand new different batch it would suddenly be too much (if the old stuff was bad). So... tonight I'm going to break into a whole new box I got locally in Nov.
