i dunno, i guess for a normal person 6:30 pm would be a PMPS, but if i base it on when i slept, it is my AMPS. like i am drinking a fine cuppa cawfee right now. ~O)

nuthin new, same old same old. when i get my hot little hands on some $$ he is getting a needed dental (wheee too. the other kitties are all so old have no toofis anymore, well except monster but he cannot have anesthesia). maybe that will stop the trend of ever increasing insulin needs. only cat that is run green practically 24/7 and needs dose increases rather than reductions. i always get the defective ones. lololol. thinking that he will get an IGF-1 retest too when doing pre-dental BW since we are up to 4.0 units. again. remember when i got him from 14-16 units a day (lev plus R) and down to 1.1 units of lev bid? ahh those were the days. but each CP flare means a series of dose increases afterward and then finally starts down dosing path again and then has another flare. cycle getting old, but whadda ya gonna do? he is a very happy and except for the flares healthy little (gasp, yeah right) guy and is enjoying life immensely. so we just keep on keeping on. been shooting one cat or another with insulin twice a day for past 19 years non stop, is as natural as brushing teeth in my life. that few months i did not have a diabetic cat before i adopted settles i couldn't sleep, kept thinking i was forgetting to do something important. ;-)

is fullish moon, have fun tonight everyone! those that went up to visit moon up close and in person, come back down and those that are hiding from moon in basement come back up. kthxbia!

edited cause i didn't know what day it was.
and maybe some typos. maybe.

Love when you post Jojo. :) Sorry to hear that Settles had another flare and has gone the opposite way on the dosing scale. But apparently he just likes to keep you on your toes. 19 years - OMG - that is unbelievable. But we're on year 3 or 4 I think...time goe soooooo fast. But I will say, it is so easy where we are now. I can only wish that all could be so lucky. All I can say to newbies is do what the protocal says and be patient. You'll get to a nice regulated cat at some point, and along the way, your baby will be ever so happy!

Hope your feeling much better yourself too Jojo!

Wow, this is the first condo that I have had the pleasure of reading from you Jojo. You are such a lifesaver, 19 years!!! WoW, what an angel. So is this new ones name Settledown? I admit I was very puzzled when reading the name of the condo

oh sorry paige, i keep forgetting to transplant my profile from old board. no i have 3 litter mates that are 19 yrs old, SettleDown is a diabetic cat i adopted off this board from jess (the other vet tech) after she rescued him from the DKA practically dead that his first owners dropped him off at her vet hospital with. settles, aka snackus maxiumus, is only 9 years old. and is perfect diabetic cat for me since he is hard to handle, just how i like my diabetic cats, lolol! (bunny was feral as was chester, and mystic was fractious as all heck, only poor Y was easy). he is named SettleDown..... well cause that was what i mostly was saying to him when he first got here couple years ago.

SETTLES! Big-headed Settles!

Damn those flares! He's not defective, he's just "special".

Whoever finds the fountain of cash first wins, k?

Ps
Jojo,You are right 100% about my English. LL helped a lot.

you forgot to mention his raccoon genes. and how he's the brave defender of the toilet against thunder-intruders :-D

do you get cardio evals again before dental, or is it just for the first-ever dental? would you get a cardio eval for only your senior kitties, or any of your kitties regardless of age, before their first dental? (cali's due for her first-ever dental this year, and i was wondering if she should get a cardio eval first - i think vpi may cover a bit of the cost so we shouldn't have to make her go look for a job)

what thread on health? i'll have to go see. i feed the ferals friskies. and monster gets a treat of the senior turkey one before bed. trying to keep weight on him.

this thread on health. have you noticed if any of your ferals seem less enthusiastic about food these days?

answers for WCF~

yes i would get cardio work up for first time anesthesia on any one of my senior cats. in perfect world i would get it on any cat regardless of younger age before anesthesia but it is not a perfect world here by a long shot. so wheee will not be getting one unfortunately. i have to talk to jess about settles, he should i know but i cannot even drive to jackie's like i did last time and city? ugh. and $$. we'll see, nothing happening any time soon, no funds. but to answer question, yes i would get one for cali if you can. humoons do not do under w/o one, neither should cats.

mr. raccoon is sitting on wheee right now. lol, they play all the time and settles has figured out he is twice, no 3 times, wheee's size (wheee is normal sized cat).

as far as the friskies canned, no my ferals eat it like crazy, it is brutally cold out, most polish off 2 cans at once! as far as indoor cats, it is the time of year when appy's start naturally paring back, time to drop the winter weight and trim down to summer's size. i was gonna mention that to you in your condo but forgot, that you prolly have lost the winter drive to eat more around now.

Hi ((Jojo))!

Thanks for the SD update
Sorry to hear that he has had some minor flares.. but, numbrahs are still a masterpiece!

Pepper is a lug too.. and still doesn't know his size when it comes to a good wrestle with his civie Moki.. (Pepper is three times his size). But Moki is slim and wired for sound.. lol! Fun to watch'em!

Hope your feeling bettah!

oh thank goodness  meowzi did have me worried there. cali hasn't seemed to have received the memo about trimming down to summer's size yet.

thanks for your thoughts on cardio work up. cali will get one in the summer then, before her dental.
