Answers to many questions are in last Caturday's condo
WCR: She seems to be sleeping a lot, but still purry.
Appy is off somewhat - last Sunday's mirtz was the last quarter of that pill; first cut on Feb. 7, think maybe been exposed too long to air? Who knows. The three quarters prior to that perked her appy up quite a bit, but not this time. Or possibly something's going on with Friskies - there's a thread on Health questioning if it's changed. DH hasn't been doing a really good job handfeeding her at night and I've been going to bed really early, so she's only averaging 98 food calories daily this week, and not that many treats too I think. This compares to 110-120 food cal daily in the first two weeks of Feb. We're down to our last pill and dropped off a new rx for mirtz at Costco today, will pick up Monday. But I'm sort of afraid to give it to her b/c it may make her want to eat more, and we don't know if there's anything wrong with the Friskies that we have, and she won't eat anything else that I've tried to offer.
I hadn't realized how much her calorie intake has dropped till I sat down to calculate it tonight. I'll have to try to remember to do a weight check tomorrow morning before SQuids, but the last visit to the hospital, she'd gained 1/2 lb. (good, but not-so-good for her arthritis; is something we're trying to balance, but isn't easy)
BGs haven't been impressive, but is least of my concern. Have wondered though if she's needing more SQuids - have noticed a couple of times that when we give SQuids late, BGs don't budge till SQuid onset. Maybe dehydration is messing with insulin onset? Gums don't seem tacky, but am thinking of raising her SQuid amt after b/w on Tuesday.
B/w next Tuesday - am bracing for a deterioration in renal values, although am hoping my hunch is wrong. Aside from sleeping a lot and the MIA appy, her behaviour doesn't seem to suggest anything's terribly wrong. She's purry when I wake with her in the morning, and I've seen her nuzzle her lemon a few times. And she can be feisty too - she bit me last night when I tried to comb out a mattie with a mat breaker  She could just be slowing down, or maybe it's the winter blues. I can tell she's thinking of her stroller when I carry her to the glass door and let her look out. I want spring to get here so badly - I think getting out would do her some good, and hopefully perk her up.
eta: she just asked to climb into my lap again. that's the second time today :thumbup
