Yesterday’s Condo

Yesterday's recap:
356 - amps (increase to 10.0uL)
374 - +1
344 - +10.5
364 - pmps 10L & .25R
304 - +1
268 - +2
313 - +3
329 - +4
299 - +5
356 - today's amps

So yesterday was not too bad considering the increase.
Maybe we just need a bit more R to get her down a bit more then we will see more blues again when the shed's filled.

Shadoe was pretty happy last nite, and told me when it was time for her tests. I did not test past +5 as I was too tired and she was just going to zigzag at the pink/yellow borderline.

This morning, Shadoe was sleeping on me, not purring, just waiting patiently for the day's routine to start. She really has it down pat too. When we get up, she knows to demand ps snacks, stopping for some cat grass on the way. Then she goes right over to the test spot and waits patiently for test/ shoot/ pure snacks treat :thumbup

After that part of the morn is done, she will just wander around, looking for missed snacks on her little rug and then to the food bowl for a few licks then a LB visit and then up onto the sofa to rest after a morning's hard work.

I had brought out a pillow last nite so I could lie on the sofa and rest between shots as I was tired. Around about +4, she decided she would check out that pillow. Decision made: thanks for bringing me this nice comfy pillow! I like it and will take it for my own! :thumbup :roll:

She is now asleep on that pillow, front paws hanging off the edge of the sofa.

No testing till pmps, but I am hoping we can kick up the R a notch to .5u on the pm shot. We will see how it looks tonite at pmps time.

Scratches to all the kitties and wishes for improved health for those kitties who are feeling a bit under the weather.

Gayle didn't you realize that pillow was never for you....how selfish of you to think it was. :mrgreen:

Silly bean! Logan did the same thing when I was sleeping on the floor at night with him after his first surgery. After one night, he decided it was his and started sleeping on it all times. And, how could I possibly take it away?! I slept with no pillow! :lol:

Hope Shadoe gives you some pretty numbers today and you get the results!!!

Yes, I stopped at Shoppers for their price; it's $134.99 for 5-cart pack. I forget what I paid for the 5-cart of Lantus, but it does not matter to me.
I think I am going with Lev, no matter what the results turn out to be.
With this high of a dose, even if we don't go higher, I would prefer to go with an insulin less likely to sting. It's not like Shadoe can speak up and say ouch that one stung. She is pretty stoic, so signs would be subtle.
I will call the vets around noon today to annoy them with my "are they in yet?" and if not, I'll ask them to call MSU and see when the results will be available. I'll stop there on the way home from the gym after work so I'll have something to post either way by 6pm tonite.
As for the weather, I was raised on the Prairies , so this weather's got nothing on a typical Winnipeg winter day :lol:
I'll be spitting venom if they don't get me the results before the weekend. cat(2)_steam

Kelly, I just wish they would decide on just a couple pillows. I must have over a dozen pillows and it's just that she wants what I want :lol: I don't mind; she seems so pleased with herself that she has 'won'.

Very nice WCR as usual this morning.
Very nice of Shadoe to claim what is righfully hers, lol.
Max is loving the new cat bed and pretty much lives in it.
I even have to feed him there and put the plate in.
The only problem is that I test him on the floor. Now I know
why my back is aching.

Well, today is hopefully the day and we are waiting anxiously to hear
any news. I hear the calmness in you Gayle, which really is so amazing.
Shadoe feels that from you too and I am sure that is why she is just
so cooperative with you.

I am eagerly watching your condo for the test results. I hope you are using your Shoppers Optimum points, and stocking up on weekends when they have 20X points. I snagged a free box of Lantus, syringes, and strips when I redeemed my points.

It IS reassuring to know that the vets on duty ARE keeping on top of things.
I am still gonna call to IMPRESS upon them that I want them to be calling MSU, not just waiting for the results to come in.

I should get an optimum card! I don't do all that much shopping there, and I get alot over at Walmart to save some $$$. Strips are cheaper there, plus that's where I got the R carts. Shopper did not have them. That card is a good idea because if the Lev is not cheaper at Walmart, I'll get it at Shoppers.

I called the vets to 'clarify', and was advised that Dr. Steed called MSU, so she is just waiting for them to fax over the results when available.
I said good, I'll stop by after work to pick up copies.
Whew, nailbite_smile I don't want to wait till Monday, and told them that as well. :thumbup

I told u months ago to get an optimum card! lol
by the way you wont get points for insulin :lol: but u do for strips and everything else! Big time!!
And u can redeem points for those things too.

u might want to check with Costco pharmacy - call em up - dont need membership or prescrip to buy insulin, their lantus was about $20 cheaper than shoppers.

So it sounded like they have results today and they will be faxed today.
Sorry but I need that clarification, lol.
Knowldege is power Gayle, absolutely!!! And you know how to get it done.

Oh and about King Max's crown, sparkling in flat yellows today.
They have a mind of their own.
Hey when you get the results put a symbol on the column so we all know
they are in and can zoom over to read.
I hope someone does not get mad at me for that suggestion.

I wish I knew the meaning of some of the end ones. like the plain star or the thing between the heart and the ? Maybe the i is for info?

At any rate, I'll change the subject line to add "results are in" or something like that to let you know.

I have a feeling that the vet is following up well, just to get rid of me coming in there all the time haha_smiley but hey, the squeaky wheel gets the grease or is that the annoying bean gets the results?

Too late to call now; they are likely closed.

I am so angry that I will be going back later when there is an actual vet on duty and tear some strips off them for their supremely shoddy treatment.

So no results till Monday or whenever the pitiful excuse for a vets can get around to bothering to call and enquire again.

I will be giving Shadoe her Lantus only tonite; I have to go out and can't do any hourly monitoring, so no R tonite.

Did you try. Isn't Michigan a different time zone then us. 1 hour behind Gayle.
Don't give up. Make some calls now.

ETA: Sorry. I just called MSU to see. They closed at 5:30 our time.

I don't know if will be the same in Canada, but when I bought Lantus at Costco in US there was a notice in with the receipt that Levemir was on their preferred formulary so it would have a much larger discount. No, you don't need to be a member there, but you get a better discount if youare. Have a friend who belongs?
 
I am waiting for a call back from the vet; I don't expect a call till quite late.
I told them I want an explanation.
 
LOL, you don't quit, do you Gayle? :lol: I mean that in a good way, my boss is like that and she accomplishes amazing things. As you said in an earlier post, having the results will make you feel better, but really it won't change anything about what you were planning to do this weekend. Try to breathe, it will be ok.
