Anyone want to look at Tucker's spreadsheet? We reduced the dose last week from .6 (or fat 1/2U) to .5U BID.

His ear is bothering him and a cyst on his tail is getting awfully large, but other than that, he's good. Circling has not gotten any worse, no fighting with Sam to speak of.

I think the reduced dose is fine. There was no weight loss or gain last month, will recheck him in a few weeks.

Heading to the store to look at some varieties of raw food for Mr. Darcy and will offer that to Tucker also if he shows interest. He's not a big fan of health food, he takes after his mom that way

Tucker has lots of allergies. We did allergy tests when I first adopted him. Mold, mildew, dust, pollen, ragweed, some type of grass, all the good stuff. Change of season usually brings about an ear infection. He had one about a month ago also. This could be from all the wet weather we've had.

I really don't want to have to use the steroid drops again, but if his ear keeps bothering him I may have to. It gets swollen on the inside and hot to the touch. I know when he's bothered by it because he starts pawing at it and getting cranky about blood tests.

During the week it's not so easy to get more spot checks, but I could do a few +2 or +3 in the evenings.

Thanks for looking.

Glad the reduced dose seems to be working out. Yes, if you could get more spot checks that would be great (of course you know that). Even one right before you turn in at night would be helpful.

I think you said before that Tucker just doesn't go for raw food. That is too bad since it would be so good for his allergies and his IBD. Hopefully you can find one Mr. Darcy will like and he can talk Tucker into eating some. ;)

Glad to see Tucker's doing good!

How is he about having things administered, such as with a syringe? I'm wondering if you could do what I do for Gandalf, who also won't eat raw food as his normal daily food.

I puree than liquify a half cup of Feline Pride's raw turkey with other canned food in a blender, sometimes the whole 5 oz can, sometimes just half. I give him 30ml or 1 oz via syringe after shots, so BID. So 2 oz a day, but again it's mixed with canned. Sometimes he will lick it off syringe as I squeeze it out, sometimes not.

I learned how easy it is to do this during his first pancreatitis attack last fall. I know the raw is good for him, and at their ages, whatever helps their body deal with all the issues they have going on is worth the extra effort. And although the raw is expensive to buy, this way it lasts a lot longer.

Any plans for the tail cyst?

Can I do anything for tail cysts?

My vet just pokes at them and drains them. They are very dirty, he won't touch his tail so my vet is nice enough to wash his tail for me. I've tried, it just ends up in me being able to test my own blood sugar

Tucker does not take oral meds well anymore, but I could try the food mixture, he may not fight that.

He did not show any interest in the raw last night. Mr. Darcy did eat it with gusto for about five minutes and then decided that Lilly Grace's Fancy Feast looked much better, but at least there's hope for Mr. Darcy. I'm going to see if Angel Kitty wants to try the raw tonight also.

Where do you get Feline's Pride, in CT I've only been able to find Nature's Variety and that's been hit or miss with my gang. The only flavor they will even consider is the chicken and only a slight few would eat the raw.

Hi Jennifer, the link is in my sig. There are lots of distributors around the country but the guy (Shelby) that owns the company is in New York so you would get your shipment directly from him if you decide to buy it.
