Did not give Ruby an increase today as I said I would last night because I realized in the light of day that 6 cycles hadn't passed yet since her last green. She's squinting worse this evening and her eye was very runny when I got home so I smeared some Terramycin on her eye and she hated it and hid for a little while. It's the first time she's had conjunctivitis without any signs of a URI. My poor girl.

Hope everyone had a good day. :bighug:

Hi Katherine, I feel awful that Ruby's eye is still runny. It the Terramycin you had used before for the conjunctivitis . I still have the drops that I had gotten for Tyler when he had the same thing. I would have to look and see what they were
Do you want me to take a look.He didn't have an URI either at the time

It's ok, the Terramycin ointment is what was given by Ruby's vet the last time and I still have it left. It's a good antibiotic, it just stings. I don't think she would like the drops any more than the ointment. The pred lowers her immune resistance, so whatever herpesvirus/calicivirus she had in her since she was a kitten tends to flare up more these days, so it's not a mystery to me why it's happening. She leapt onto the kitchen island this evening to give me headbutts and asked for pets, so she's doing all right, just a little uncomfortable.

Okey Dokey, I'm glad she's jumping up on the kitchen island wanting lovins :cat::cat::bighug::bighug:

+3 = 58. Geez, Louise. Glad I did not increase this morning.

L-lysine. My FIV+ boy’s eye has become so much better with daily Viralys. I’ve stopped his eye drops even.

love to Ruby.
I have a big container of Viralys but she doesn't like it in her food. I will try some again tomorrow. It's hard when she is sick and I add things to her food that she doesn't like and then doesn't eat. I have to privilege the eating.

The Viralys is also the fishiest smelling thing, so you'd think the cats would be all over it, but not Ruby. I put so many supplements into her food that she does not mind at all--probiotics, fibers, Lactulose.

I have an eye ulcer kitty on pred here too. I just do plain l-lysine. If you use one of those liquid treats like TikiStix or Churo to put it in, then they don't associate it with food.

Good heavens Miss Ruby, dive much?

Thanks, Wendy. I'll get some Churo tomorrow and give it to her as a treat and see if she goes for it. I thought the added fish and brewer's yeast in the Viralys would make it more palatable rather than going for straight up L-lysine. :banghead: She did a much bigger dive a few days ago. Not entirely sure why. Probably cuz she can.

Oh. I know. Sorry. I would not use it either if it caused her not to eat! I understand that. There may be other flavors and formulations that she would tolerate. Do they sell unflavored?
