BIG bounce this morning....either that, or a stress reaction to last night's fiascos...
I was very VERY wrong when I said "It can't get any worse" with regards to the cats having free run of the bedroom. It got worse beyond my wildest dreams. Zen, who had already been sleeping in there with us for about a week, was EXTREMELY upset that the other kitties were allowed into "his" room. He normally has big, round happy eyes, but I swear, he had the "dead eyes" look on his face. He chased Frankie under the bed a few times, swatted at Noah when he walked by, and the worst was he totally attacked Trixie, who was just innocently laying on the bed.
Once we escorted all the others out of the bedroom, Zen just curled up in a tight little ball at the end of the bed...no purring, no asking for attention all night long. While it's exhausting to have him constantly waking us up, at least I know that mean he's happy and he's being himself.
If that wasn't enough, about 15 minutes after putting the other cats in the hallway, Noah started scratching at the door. Petey, who doesn't like noise, attacked him. Broke that up, attempted to get purrs out of Zen, then tried to sleep. A few minutes later, Petey started crying outside the door. He has *never* done that. I ignored it as long as I could, then got up and spent a good 15 minutes petting and playing with him. Went back to bed, then Petey started crying AGAIN. Got up again, and came downstairs and stared at the computer for another 20 minutes.
I don't blame Zen at all, and I'm not upset with him at all, either. I blame myself. I should have known...he's not that much of a fighter, but he does have jealousy issues. When someone else is getting too much attention, he has to get his little body in the middle. It was very upsetting for me, knowing that I caused him to be so upset. And I hope the balance we had with everyone isn't permanently damaged. I think I got about 3 hours of sleep last night, including my post-shot BTB.
I have a dentist appointment soon, then I have to work till 8:00. It'll be a long one. I'll catch a few condos here and there as I can, but if I miss some, I'm thinking of everyone!
Have a great day, LL!
