It's good he was hungry, and if you need to feed again at the next test, you want his tummy to have room for it.

kk- the drop of karo came out fas and was kinda big i think, i mixed it up in the gravy but tried to get he stuff from the top w karo in him
i hate this, feeling more in control and can do this, but my heart races and i feel instanly sick, hope this feeling goes away soon. i thought that was a good number ( i know it is but also know that +6 is around the time insulin will kick in the most or around that ime -ecid

Absolutely the number was a good one. And not too low. Just too early. He only dropped 70 points or so, but it was in just two hours. All you're trying to do is slow things down. At +6, this number would not have required high carb and gravy, probably just low carb. This was more a matter of "when" than "how much". Make sense?

And to add to that great explanation, he's also not eating well. If he was well, you'd be feeding him regularly to control the drop and you would do it with LC.
Onset is +2 to +3. Nadir...or peak action of the insulin when numbers are lowest is at +6.

And the reason that it probable reached the "onset" point just a little early was because he didn't eat all that much at shot time. The food and the insulin sort of work together, but in opposite directions. So the timing of things matters in some cases.

Ok..just to go over it...we are controlling him more than we normally would because he's not eating well. I'd rather slow him down and get him flat before he gets low Instead of letting him go low fast and have you fight to get him up. So once he's eating and feeling better, you will have to relearn when and how to feed. But we will help.
