And the mighty Buzz (a.k.a Kitty) cruises along, completing the 4th day of his 1.25 Fat dose.
I gathered my courage and put Kitty's dental + jaw x-ray on the schedule. Because we're not using our regular vet, I will take him next week for bloodwork and an exam. The following week, he'll go in to get worked on :
- follow up on the cancer scare of last fall (the surgeon couldn't even find anything to biopsy) with a high-quality jaw x-ray
- clean the mild gingivitis he has developed.
Why the vet that extracted Kitty's tooth last April didn't clean his teeth at the same time -- never even suggested it -- I'll never know.
I talked with our current vet about the ketamine; she assured me that good vets know about the recall and are not using the tainted brand.
No preventive AB unless the bloodwork and pre-exam warrant it.
He will have an IV to monitor BG, and they will monitor blood pressure, oxygen and carbon dioxide.
They'll use ketamine + valium to induce anesthesia. Gosh, anyone want to give ME valium?? No? I guess cookies will have to do!!! :mrgreen:
